I don't follow any sort of gnomecore or cottagecore aesthetic in my home, but I keep an eye out for critters/feathers/bones on my walks and I bring home anything neat. I do have a lot of crystals; I don't think they hold power or anything but they just look cool.

Do you ponder your crystals?

I stare at them with brow furrowed and imagine the geological processes that led to the majestic crystal that now sits on my bookshelf next to my multiple YA retellings of Beauty and the Beast and Phantom of the Opera (I know nothing about geology).
I think of my reflection upon the cut gems, "there's over seven realms" . Suddenly a Gnome pops out from my cooking pot and yells "WHAT?!". It seems my magi ornaments have been discovered.

Gnomecore & cottagecore feel like a more sophisticated version of fairy houses.

"Whimsical maximalism" is tangentially related, too. Lots of plants and trinkets involved.

I'd like to set up some fairy houses at some point.

Anyone else like wading in creeks to explore/look for critters/pick up trash/etc? Creeks are badass.
I like going down to the lake a few times but not as much since I'm busier than usual. There's this huge nature path where I live and you have the entrance with a small parking space and a giant wooden playground for kids to enjoy. Walking down more you can see a few streams of fish and a few animals every here and now. I remember walking at knight seeing a small mouse just slightly crossover the trail and then a silent swoop from an owl took it away. I think the best thing you can find while walking around is a crow because those birds are real smart.

Yeah lil dust pups like to get their paws on that sorta good meat. You're not thinking of using it for any pagan rituals to summon a goblin are you?
Nah but I might boil it then put it in one of my bug enclosures for them to use as a hide. I've done that before with skulls I've found.

I was walking in the forest and the trail seemed suspiciously longer getting out than it did going in so I said "Ha ha very funny, now let me out." and the woods got all quiet so I threw a "please" in there and was out in 20 minutes.

Forests be like that sometimes. Even with all the diverse greenery, when you're deep enough into the woods, everything can start to look very samey, especially if you're tired and/or desperate to get out and back to civilization.

Sometimes when that happens I just full on sprint (if I’m in a trail or not) and usually I find my way out just blindly running around. It’s pretty fun because it makes me feel like an animal.
