Garbodor: Dedicated spikes setter (both regular and toxic). Otherwise you can play it defensively (it has the HP/Def/SpDef to pull it off) or offensively (it's physical attack stat is really good). Aftermath is the prefferd ability for both though
I still don't know how people tolerate this franchise after one of the most commonly used moves was taken away. I can understand the argument that this forced some Pokemon to specialize in certain roles and use other moves, but more often than not it provided new roles to Pokemon that might otherwise not have had counters and allowed them to fight back, not to mention added mindgames in what kind of Hidden Power you had to counter what threat. Not that it matters, the new powercreep is so retarded it makes Gen 4/5/6 compared to older generations look conservative.

The big chase in that set is the crystal lugia from aquapolis. The same people who called the gold star umbreon reprint a cope print are buying out the 30th anniversary set in order to chase it. the ereader cards outside the art are so hideous. I am kinda interested to see those mew/metwo rare cards in person though, they look horrible in pictures but if they are like the gold cards they probably look really good in person.
I feel that was partially because of how 'unintuitive' the move was to people who are not hacker-level competitive, partially because Tera Blast seemed to be its 'replacement'.
Tera Blast (and this move is absolutely going to be a one gen wonder) came one gen later, and the reason it got removed was threefold. One? You're right, it is unintuitive as hell. Two? It heavily favored special attackers because there was no physical version. Three? It allowed dynamax to do stupid things if someone could access everything except fairy type.
I say 'damage agains the opposite gender'.
That makes it more useful than just a chance to avoid x status stat.
Surely they just copy-paste the battle engine for every game no? It hasn't significantly changed since the GBA. They would just need to implement the new gimmick every gen.
They’re pretending to like the art because the cards are worth so much because there weren’t as many printed and circulated compared to the classic era up to the gym sets after pokemania. The mew and mewtwo look terrible and like something to appeal to the millenials nostalgic about the 90s.
I miss Return the most; Normal type really didn’t need the nerf. Also, isn’t being friends with Pokémon the core message of the franchise? Why remove the move that exemplifies that?
At least they still have Facade. I prefer that move over Return anyways considering status moves like Will-o-Wisp/Toxic/ThunderWave still run rampant on defensive teams. Plus Guts/QuickFeet users can benefit from it too.
I like the concept of voltorb, which was originally a mimic that’d punish you for being greedy in the power plant. Magnemite and exeggcute on the other hand suck.
