Alibaba, AliExpress, DHGate, Wish, Taobao, Temu & more! - CHEAP CHINK SHIT GENERAL THREAD
I guess we aren't the only ones who hate them. Most articles say it was peaceful, it would be cool to see some footage disprove that claim. I would love to see some Chinese rioting.
Looks like the Biden administration is closing a loophole that gives online vendors like SHEIN and Temu tariff exemptions. Expect to start paying a lot more for your chinkslop, ladies.
So I've became a big fan of Miss A since my first post...
But here is the best things to buy
-face masks
-hydrocolloid patches
-make up tools
-concealer
-primers
-powders
-lip masks, scrubs, oils
-random face products (like eye creams, and oils)
-random stuff like silicone bowls (crafts), tools, travel stuff, head bands...etc
I now have a shiba inu head band while I do my face

Prepare to pay more for all clothes, every single time they add protectionism prices go up because there's less competition.
I'm all for not letting the chinese get free shipping on our dime, but why wasn't this done 20 years ago? why today? because china is no longer friendly? because history didn't end?
1. I don't know
2. The beginning of this thread is full of people talking about gun parts and USB sticks, so I think it'd be fine. No gender has a monopoly on buying dumb stuff for cheap, but people who bought hair clips or erasers are probably more motivated to post about it.
I've bought nocks, fletching supplies, and even a new set of arrowns from Temu. So far, so good. My new target is literally on a slow boat from China. I ordered it the last week of September and it is supposed to get here mid-November.
I order a ton of shit from Alibaba & Taobao including high end jewelry & tech so I will give my info dump:
Temu, DHGate, and AliExpress are good for cheap stock items. I don't like Temu as much because its so cheap that quality suffers. If I buy anything from there, I never have high expectations. DHGate is next for stock items but Ive found stuff there to be a hit or miss. AliExpress is Alibaba for stock items & have not had an issue with them.
For the higher end stuff I use WhatsApp or WeChat to communicate with the sellers using their contact info on Alibaba, ask for pics, negotiate prices, customize etc. When we come to an agreement they generate an invoice specific to me on Alibaba, I pay it and wait for my stuff to come. Have not had an issue with it so far. Should you decide to venture on Taobao, you need to use google translate as most vendors don't have an English speaking rep.
The biggest adjustment is the buying process, the wild-west nature of the sites and shipping time. Caveat emptor heavily applies. Look at the sellers rank, reviews etc. You can get totally scammed or score a great deal of a lifetime depending on how well you research. You get what you pay for.
Best practices:
- Communicate with the seller thru WeChat or WhatsApp if its an item over $100 or you want customization or more pics.
- Account for time difference and get used to phone-tag communication since these people live in China.
- Use the photo search tool. I upload a picture of whatever I want and see whats out there. Get an idea of what the average price is and account for shipping, then make your purchase. This is useful for getting Lululemon or grey market branded items.
I don't buy any cosmetics and you shouldn't either. Theres no regulation or any idea whats in them. Another thing I don't buy is any safety related items ie car jack stands or climbing gear. Im okay with putting a cheap China O2 sensor on a project car but Im not putting brakes or steering equipment on it. Too risky. Electrical items have been fantastic if you don't get the bottom barrel stuff.
I mainly use Alibaba, Taobao or AliExpress.
Heres a list of things I have purchased:
- Nice birthday & holiday cards for dirt cheap, think those nice paper art cards that unfold. Big hit with family & friends.
- Party decorations
- Organizers for fishing lures etc
- Office equipment, Nice pens, notebooks, stationary, paper products
- Lab diamond earrings 14k gold, 2ctw. $849!!
- Platinum lab diamond bracelet, fully customized because it was a unique design, beautiful piece. Most expensive purchase so far at around $3400
- Ag drone. Big boy toy that I use for fun, Im thinking of putting a thermal imaging camera on at some point. Came in a crate. $2100
- Night vision goggles
- Small appliances
- Clothes - I could make another post for this since its so broad
You can get bulk lots of beads/charms/elastic for making jewellery really cheaply on aliexpress. I also bought a glass dip pen from there that is suspiciously good quality for how little I paid for it.
If you wanna try your hand at making your own dolls/figures, use the cheap shit to practice on first. Carousel, Temu and Allibaba are ones I use. Don't put too much stock into them, these supplies are just stepping stones. But you can get pleasantly surprised sometimes.
I get a lot of my cross stitch kits from aliexpress, they're decent enough quality and I get to spend a lot of time on my hobby for a very low price. I have even given away a few finsihed pieces as gifts, as long as they are framed nicely you won't really be able to tell that they're cheap kits from Ali. Granted a lot of the art is probably stolen and you have to wade through a lot of AI shit, which doesn't translate well into cross stitch patterns so those aren't even worth getting even if they're cheap.
I have also ordered a skirt from aliexpress before which was of decent quality and very cheap since it was my first purchase, giving me a big discount. Shopping for clothes is a little harder for me since I'm quite large and most of the XL sizes are for small Asian women who weigh 55kg.
i thought aliexpress was some wish/temu shit but i've been slowly realizing it's where all the dropshipped amazon slop comes from that gets jacked up in price. so basically it's lower price for longer shipping. except for this one faggot that never sent me my hat. but AE refunded me at least
I have to admit, I've been loving getting cheap pleated and plaid skirts on Temu. It's so hard to find cute skirts that fit how tall I am that look like the punk shit I wore as a teenager. I'm somewhat glad it's coming back in fashion with teenagers so it's pumped out more.
I like Aliexpress. The stationary stuff like stickers and washi-tape is usually quite good. The clothes are fine and usually somewhat well-made. But they might contain like asbestos so idk buy it at your own risk. The makeup is a huge no no imo...
I use Temu to buy specialty hand tools which see incidental uses per year, where I wouldn't otherwise be able to justify Knipex/Klauke prices.
Also AliExpress is great to find parts for broken machines and appliances. My best purchase was a clone diagnostics computer for my car which gives me dealer level access to my car's computers. This alone has saved me hundreds of Euro's for clearing faultcodes alone.
I'm into fly tying (like for fishing). Fly tying shit is criminally overpriced. Seriously $10 for a pack of hooks and $30 for hackles? GTFO out of here. Terminal tackle, specialty scud weights, and decent feathers abound for cheap AF on AliExpress if you're willing to search. There's just so, SO much stuff for fly tying.
I'm also into watercolor and have had decent luck with some hand poured palettes. 100% cotton watercolor paper (Baohong brand) is good and cheap. You can make your own sketchbooks out of it and save $$$ vs buying one off Amazon and get better quality.
Sometimes a hit, sometimes a miss:
Knockoff board games. Look for sellers with reviews and pictures and go from there. You can score some pretty good quality games or some absolute garbage. A lot of games are made in China, so getting something close to the genuine article or what looks to be a factory second is possible.
