And of course the two of them couldn't trade one or more in for the damn Focus. The cars tie the hoard together.

i'm not trying to a-log or ween or whatever the terminology is when people do stuff to chris that he doesn't like. I'm sorry it creates a difficult situation for Chris, but maybe he shouldn't have dropped all of his money and acquired a loan to buy a car without setting aside funds to fulfill his end of the contracts he made with 30+ buyers.

Giving Chris money is like giving a heroin addict some money for another dose of drugs. Chris is financially incompetent, and is going to bankrupt himself sooner or later. Chris may not even learn anything from that. No matter how much money Chris receives, he's still going to fuck up and live beyond his means. For instance, over the past few years since Bob's death, his tugboat has gone up from $800 to $1300 a month, but in the end, that increase isn't changing the equation, just one of the inputs. (He'll still bankrupt himself, it'll just take a little longer)So...Chris basically follows these steps:
1-) Have money problems.
2-) Beg people for money.
3-) Get money by selling doodles and clay.
4-) Spend more than you should on Lego.
5-) Have money problems.
6-) Beg people for money.
7-) Get money fby getting a loan.
8-) Spend more than you should on car you don't need.
9-) Have money problems.
10-)Beg people for money.

Three cars, now. Three working cars. 1.5 cars per person. Which is a higher ratio than most of America owns.
By my best estimates, Chris has received approximately $100,000 in tugboat payments alone since 2006. That's not counting any other medical benefits or other welfare that Chris may have received in the meantime. Barb's social security is roughly about $1,000 a month, and she also receives a monthly pension from the utility company she retired from. The Chandlers are receiving over $2,500 a month in income, but they refuse to try to live within their means. That's informative. : ( He makes more sitting on his ass than I do through working a month. I'm not trying to turn this into "amg Chris is a welfare leech!", but it's just interesting that between his tugboat and whatever Barb earns, they could live comfortably (if they were frugal). It just makes the whole begging and people handing him money even more flabbergasting.
To be fair, the old cars were dumb. Repairs and gas are much more expensive. Selling them then buying a Focus is decent decision. But if you are short on money, you kind of have to do it in that order.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see him making some honest money on Ebay, and I don't hold that against him, but it's just delaying the inevitable financial crash that Chris is going to experience.
Also, even if Chris is making some money honestly nowadays, that still doesn't justify the stupid ways that he spends it. Even if a person earns money through hard and honest work, that doesn't justify them spending it on drugs, prostitutes, or other frivolities and leaving basic expenses unpaid. Chris is begging for more money and sales on facebook, citing his mother's medical needs and the household bills, but Chris is then spending thousands of dollars on legos and other bullshit. Only a very special individual indeed would be making financial decisions as stupid as Chris is right now. Yes, it's his money, and he has the freedom to spend it how he wants, but his greed, laziness, deceit, and lack of responsibility disgust me.
They'll probably end up selling the Cadillac for scrap to make next month's payment, and keep lowering the price on the BMW until they sell it too. But I agree with you in that it's only a matter of time until the new car is repossessed. Even then Chris probably won't learn anything.I think Barb's thought train is that she won't have the loan for long because once the BMW sells she'll pay it off in full. If she had reasonable expectations for the sale price of her vehicles, and shopped accordingly, this isn't an unreasonable action. But, Chris an Barb being famous for their NO HAGGLE policy probably means that they paid what ever inflated price the dealership put on the sticker, got the dealership's in-house 23% interest loan, when the cars don't sell by the end of next month, and Simeon Yetarian sends Franklin over to repo the car, the meltdown will be glorious.
Services that Chris will do his best to avoid and not utilize. That is unless either Barb forces him to or he complains to Rocky (assuming she'll still be around and willing to help). And even then he'll still drag his feet.So lets say he runs out of things to sell, and ends up going broke. It isn't like we live in the 1800s anymore. We have services for poor people ( Crazy how the Chandlers leaped from lower-middle class to dirt poor!)
Fatty is notoriously lazy and believes that that money should just fall into his lap. After all GAS IS EXPENSIVE!In addition to the tugboat Chris can just go down to the welfare office and get some more free money.
See answer above.Wesley Methodist probably has a food shelf for him...
Have you seen how they were living before the fire?I don't get people saying that he will spend his days living like Oscar the Grouch..

if chris just said "no mom deal with a stickshift" what is she gonna do?
The same thing she does every time Chris attempts a little bit of independence. Threaten to kill herself and emotionally abuse Chris until he folds like a house of cards.
