You're too late - they shut down this year. Its a shame, they're part of why I became an editor - hard not to fall in love with those beautiful hardcovers they made of the classics!

If you are a collector of books, these are worth snagging when you can, a lot a still very affordable.

There is ultimately no saving these old corporate controlled properties, until at least they go public domain. They are gone to the Shadow. They are Osgiliath and Minas Ithil, when you've got to save Minas Tirith first.

The only sensible thing you can realistically do is support new, talented authors who have things together, and who are making something decent. None of the energy spent on trying to unpoz Star Wars or LotR will produce anything, but supporting young guys writing decent genre stuff is worth your time. Not because everything they do will be good, but because they are creating an alternative ecosystem where good things can emerge and not just get killed off by someone who just rejects everything appealing to men.

DMR Books is releasing short story compilations that always have a few really nice ones, and they are low key based too. You aren't getting Tolkien or Howard yet, but when someone like that comes along, he will have a home and a buying public. Be that buying public, and the talent will emerge.

Cirsova and DMR Books are both awesome. I've got high hopes for Battleborn, too, they have the right pedigree at least.

You're 100% right, But... John has done legit published books for years and just released book 6 of this "replacement" series which means he's halfway through.

He's even set things up to allow other authors to play in the setting and one of them has already done a trilogy.

Hm. I need to finish up Saga of the Forgotten warrior. Which to go back a moment, I would recommend, as well as "Daughter of the Moon Goddess" - at least I was surprised by how much I enjoyed book 1. I hope book 2 is also good.

Cirsova and DMR books have both already been mentioned. The Bizarchives magazine and Aegeon magazine are both very chuddy from what I've seen, but I've never actually read either, only watched interviews with their creators. They may or may not be worth looking into.

Way I see it is I was gaining a lot of traction on the platform so they didn't want me getting bigger than them. I'll just have to do it on the non-preferred platform which makes it a little harder but it's just going to slow things down a little, not end it like they think. It's beyond tired watching how this Gen X group: canceled by SJWs, really just wanted to BE the mainstream industry, become gateekepers of their own little ponds instead that don't matter and act worse than the SJWs. But this is why you can't have a nebulous movement that doesn't have explicit right wing values or it turns to shit.
