So for the politisperging part of this it isn't really contrarianism when a group consistently tells you to go against your own best interests and you consistently choose not to. If the Russian Federation runs around trying to reabsorb breakaway states who’s independence was formally recognized by the Russian federation because that is in their interest, then a counter-strategy is in ours.

As for the Ukrainians, who in their right fucking mind would want to have their necks tied to the boat anchor that is the Russian Economy?
