What I don't understand is why we can't just throw garbage into volcanoes. Nobody lives near them anyway, the fumes are already toxic, and if it's that big of a deal there are underwater ones!

Anything that falls into a volcano, even as small as a rock, can trigger an eruption.

Okay, so just get some of them fancy-dancy military helicopters and throw the trash in at a distance. If they can land a spacecraft on a meteor, they can hurl 5 tons of trash into a volcano from a mile away, I still don't see what the problem is.

Fun fact we already do this! It's called Syngas and the Swedish use it because it let's them be massive faggots and claim to be carbon 0 as they burn the equivalent of super-coal that would otherwise be permanently locked out of the carbon cycle!
