This is an advertisement update from almost 2 weeks ago. It's the same as that twitter video, with a little extra prologue. Quackity pulled the old 'i'm quitting' clickbait trick. To summarize...
>quackity will supposedly return to youtube
>he describes all his many awards and accolades (from the time he wasn't posting on yt) and becoming number 1 spanish streamer in the world, etc
>"My only objective has always been to change the world." (?????)
>same exact video from twitter showcasing dababel, his new project

This guy's ego is through the freaking roof, higher than ever before. He comes across so corporate now too. To advertise your product as ground breaking when it is far from being so, and to not correct anyone yapping about how it'll change the world, geez it just comes off so shady and scummy. Idk about you guys, but I'm interested to see where this dababel thing goes. Hopefully it'll be funny.
I didn't even have to look at "new comments" to see criticism. Maybe his fans do have SOME braincells... But overall it's just a glaze fest.

I used to watch Mindcrack way back when Etho first joined in Season 3, and watched until Etho left. During that time I watched a lot of different people that played on the server, Guude, BdoubleO, Zisteau, Kurtjmac, VintageBeef, PauseUnpause, and MCGamer to name a few off the top of my head. Recently I have been doing a deep dive into what happened to Mindcrack and why it fell apart, and I came across this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvIEOidZv8w , though it's a cut together version that seemed to have gone around this thread at the end of last year. I'm happy to see that Guude was able to get people back together to reforge Mindcrack into an entity and server earlier this month, but without bigger draws like BdoubleO and Etho, I think the server might flounder again. Though I did see that Guude had convinced a big time Spanish-speaking Minecraft youtuber to join, with something like 100-200k views per video. So, that might be something.

Overall though, I was contemplating if I should make a thread writeup on Mindcrack and it's history, but I figured such a project would not only be incredibly ambitious, because there is almost two decades worth of history to cover with a lot of the videos and discussions around those eras being obliterated. Combined with the fear that nobody would actually care, so all my effort would be wasted. If I were to do this, I would humbly ask for help because while I remember stand-out moments from the SMPs seasons, I do not think things like the Trial inside of BdoubleO's PvP arena is worthwhile discussing on a drama forum. So, instead it'd be better to simply discuss the different dramas that occurred, but if I did that, the writeup would be more speculation than concrete fact, as the only real source we have for what happened behind the scenes is Guude's subathon livestream, Rawb's complete meltdown and his staff revolting against him in 2019 and the leaks from it, and various bits and pieces said by people at the time like Guude, Etho, Zisteau, etc., but all of them were incredibly vague and did not give anything super concrete to go off of.

Separately, I wanted to say that I think Mindcrack is an incredibly interesting story to investigate, simply because I believe it was the first real example of a 'content house' kind of recording style being adopted and being successful. Mindcrack proved that you can host your own server of a popular game, fill it with interesting personalities, and you can literally print money. This has been replicated repeatedly in the time since then, but it all originates with Mindcrack. It's fall is also an interesting tale, seemingly, at the time, from Guude being greedy by forcing everyone to sign trademark agreements, but having now been revealed to be as a result of GenerikB's and BdoubleO's actions by not disclosing sponsorships, while also engaging in other behaviors including potentially ripping off a Minecraft developer on a pay to win server while using the Mindcrack name. It kind of reminds me of how some people discuss Elvis, as Elvis was the first gigantic music celebrity, and so he also fell prey to all of the now commonly known scams, and I think the same could be said with Mindcrack.

It might be interesting to see a write up about its history since Mindcrack could of been a lot bigger the other SMPs if things had played out differently, but I don't think it'll get much attention aside from a few users remembering some of the old seasons (or to check how many of the old members went off the deep end)

40 members in total, almost twice as many as Hermitcraft (25). But the main problem I see isn't that they don't have any big hitters (I briefly went over the list and 11 of them have at least over 1 million subs on youtube, rest range from 400-500k to not even 1,000), but if there's enough members who stay active. Aside from the drama surrounding Guude, GenericB and Rob, interest in the server died because most of the members got bored with minecraft and either tried to pivot to another game or just stopped uploading. My memories of mindcrack mainly consist of the prank wars and other community events, and from what I remember, I stopped watching most of them when those started becoming rarer and rarer.
If they can keep enough people active on the server to make it feel like an actual server, it might get a new chance at life. Else it'll just be like the seasons after season 5 which was just guude rambling about random shit while he plays the game and a handful of members streaming once in a blue moon on twitch in-between their irl jobs.

Overall, I agree, the prank wars were by far the best thing that came out of the Mindcrack SMP, it brought the community together and made people look into different personalities. I think Zisteau got a lot of fanfare simply because of the creativity and extent of his pranks, to which I must tip my hat, they were the Minecraft equivalent of event television. It's surprising to me that Hermitcraft never tried to replicate the Prank Wars because it was so easy to do and were ultimately harmless while creating engagement to different personalities and encouraged colabs.

My idea for a writeup mostly consisted of wanting to discuss what happened to Mindcrack, as in that video where Guude lays it all out, he's right, a lot of people still blame him for destroying Mindcrack out of greed, myself included prior to watching the video. I think doing a writeup might go so effort to not only informing people, but doing justice by Guude and hopefully stopping people from blaming him for the downfall of Mindcrack. Though saying this, a separate argument could be made that Guude still caused the downfall by his inaction and refusal to discuss the ongoing problems while the problems were happening. Instead of simply addressing the multiple dramas that were occuring, Guude stayed silent, and allowed people to draw their own conclusions. If he had simply made a video directly addressing all of the allegations, he might've been able to not only salvage the popularity of Mindcrack, but also push whatever animus or negativity that might've begun to brew onto GenerikB and Rawb.

Another point I think Mindcrack were incredibly influential in was being responsible for popularizing FTB and other minecraft modpacks by creating their own and including it as a part of the then FTB Launcher. An argument should be made that the Yogscast were the true first proponents via their modpack, the Yogbox, but I would say they never capitalized on the modpack, because they only did like 5 or less videos with it besides announcing that it occurred, and as a result it never really caught giant attraction, and at least the original Yogbox was its own separate download, not included in a launcher like FTB or Curse. Whereas Mindcrack not only made it available by a preexisting launcher, but this in turn help to encourage their fans to play other modpacks already available on the FTB launcher.

Separately, you seem to know a lot about Mindcrack, I honestly thought you were an ex-member.

When I was a kid I wished, but I'm just a former fan who several years ago asked some of the same questions of "what happened" and went digging on several forms, sites, and former member channels/profiles
I can probably find some if you do do the write up, but this was years ago so some of it might be lost or deleted

Hollup, fundy as in dream smp fundy? How long ago did he get involved? I never knew
The one, as far as I can tell everyone found out a week ago when everyone started uploading their first episode (the group decided to do a mini UHC to start the season)
Fundy hasn't uploaded or streamed anything yet along with a handfull of members, so not really much to say right now.

Someone made a video about Gerg's drama and talked about the forum calling us "duh incel side of the internet" lmao.
Maybe I'm being a dumbass for talking about some topics and being unabashed to whom I am on such websites as KiwiFarms but then again I'm not saying anything I don't believe in.
It would be one thing if I was mentioning my hatred for transgenders in my Minecraft videos but you have to go out of your way to find these posts and opinions of mine. The vast majority of people do not care about private politics of a Minecraft YouTuber.

Those that do? You either agree with me... or don't in which case It's probably good to have you feel excluded for the prosperity of the rest of people who simply do not care.

Yes I fully agree!! I'm not comparing their actions, I'm comparing their lame apologies. (YMS's is laughably much worse)

I'm gonna post it here since this person was discussed previously in this thread. Cuptoast / Crumb is going through a pretty bad depressive episode in her life. She has made some quite alarming posts on her Twitter account

I think I understand what's going on here. Crumb is 19 years old. She's been in the Internet's spotlight since 2021 (when she was 15 years old). Because of this, she got to hang out with many big creators, such as CaptainSparklez and Ranboo. However, with this much attention, she has been under a lot of scrutiny over the years, like one time a Twitter GC planned out a GayOps operation to blame one of the Minecraft YouTubers (it was either Ranboo, Dream or Tommy, I don't remember) for supposedly grooming Crumb, which caused her to have a mental breakdown (she was 15-16 when this was happening). What's even worse is that she already had mental problems (which went largely ignored, as evident by the following comic) before she gained Internet fame, so it's safe to assume that the sudden attention from millions of people only worsened her mental state
1760288681482.png
(https://archive.is/07yz7)
Now, she's 19 years old, all grown up, but the problems have stayed. She's losing control of her life more and more, living day after day in the "pilot mode", just hoping that one day a car runs over her and kills her. She knows that she's an adult, but she's unable to "grow up" fully. She still has a lot of people around her who love and support her; however, as the days go by, she feels more and more awful that people around her have to deal with her mental issues, making her feel even worse about herself

Her last comic is probably the most alarming one

I believe this one is about how she was treated back at the peak of her career in 2021-2022. She was heavily sexualized in the MCYT back then, and there were even fanfics written about her. This definitely fucked her up, and she still hasn't recovered from it

I feel super bad for crumb, had all this stuff happening to them at such a young age and is going through something similar to child stars who grow up.

Can't imagine being a once-teenage e-celeb does anything good.

I believe we might see this stuff with alot of the once-minors from the dsmp/mcyt community, so many of people around them lowkey failed to protect them. I think the reason why so many once teenage cc's within this circle often are a former shell of themselves is because they had to put up a front in their early/late teen years. Never getting the chance to normally experience the awkwardness and learning stages of those years without billions of twitter stans breathing down your back along with pedos in these standoms. I think we're gonna see more cc's talk about the effects of that.
