Examples? From my understanding of the game it's literally just paying for cosmetics and "pay to not grind", which is pretty typical. From what my buddies tell me, you don't even need to buy the stuff.
Not to mention the game is completely free, not an 80$ game that wants 20 additional dollars for features that give an advantage AKA Pay-2-Win. Rumors are floating around to that they may charge to access multiplayer to.

This is the nature of GATCHAS, which the top comps are a small percentage of players who actually go out of their way to the massive amounts of money that you mentioned (even says it in the post you linked). You can easily argue this is pay-2-win, which is why I don't usually touch gatcha games because they incentivize then this and it's GAY, but I do not consider this locking features behind a paywall.
The fact Rockstar, a AAA company with AAA game, is gravitating towards something like this while CHARGING FULL PRICE for a game is OMEGA GAY.

What makes this all the more sad is that people will still flock to pay 80$ for this and not care that they will be cucked compared to those who spent 100$ in some ways. But I shouldn't be surprised since they've been doing something like this for GTA Online with shark cards and paid vehicles that let you just fuck people who don't pay.

EDIT: I should mention that I feel that if Rockstar keeps leaning harder on practices like this, it won't end well for them, but who knows. I also remember leaks coming out months ago that Rockstar wants to do what modded online servers were doing for free & monetize it to make the GTA equivalent of Roblox. I'm not that bugged about games going up as much as things that actually matter (I don't buy most games day one anyway) but with GTA online they are some of the most greedy mother fuckers & I wouldn't even be surprised if they still haven't update how you connect to people in that game since GTA 4.

Literally everything else has gone up in price, why shouldn't video games? I really don't care about video game prices, I always end up playing new games like five years after they come out if ever.
