You have no privacy now so getting mad about this specifically is weird - this change is just making the surveillance already being done more obvious. To avoid clearnet ID requirements you: (1) need to have a VPN that can't be compromised by state actors, (2) a fake identity and (3) a payment method tied to that ID. Then nobody on Roblox will know you're not allowed within 1000 feet of a school. The real answer is not pretending we can constrain the intelligence state by asking nicely, it's to build parallel infrastructure - tor, community based mesh networks, crypto to resist govt power. I was having a conversation just today about how gamers freak out if the price of a video game goes over $60 despite having been the same price since the 1990s, but they'll spend $10,000 on horse waifu mobile games.

Bringing it into the present day feels like dragging Rip Van Winkle into modern day Baltimore.

And nowadays visa is locked the fuck down internationally but I looked around for like 2 seconds and the same workaround exists today where you use a cash-paid visa card to buy an asian banks version via a US owned subsidiary of Tencent and they send you the gift code via email and then you can use it for whatever you want, which is probably going to be some fucked up hentai or anime or something if it's some 16 year old boy going through all these steps.
