Sadly I agree there's extremely little chance of jail with the current charges. Typically, at least in my limited experience, the Canadian courts don't lock up criminals after trial that were safe enough to be in the public before trial. I'm torn, because he needs to be locked up, but the only way it will happen is if he escalates and there's a new victim.

Yes, all benefit payments are stopped, except if they’re getting tax credits - tbh I don’t know how this works in each province re: tax rebate instalments.
They don’t cut it off immediately, so the incarcerated can keep making rent payments; again, not sure how long.
They’re expected to pay it back ASAP.

There’s also a time limit before getting booted from everything.

Well he's fucking done as soon as the cops find out but Chris doesn't have to contact the probation officer he just has to call the cops and say who he is and Jon will be hauled to jail within 24 hrs.

I've seen it happen for way less in this sort of situation. They'll just throw cuffs on him without any more explanation other than "you breeched." Straight to jail and no bail because he's shown he can't follow conditions and he will have to fight it while in custody which really fucking sucks trust me. I don't want to powerlevel but I've 'seen a person' go to jail for breeching a no contact order for much less than what Jon's already doing. It doesn't even have to be Chris that reports it. If anyone anywhere contacts the police with the info he's done.

And this guy wants to be a lawyer. Can't even follow the most basic of conditions, like Jesus...

I'd love to see Jonathan trying to fight his court shit from within jail and see him wake up at 5am to get hustled in a chain gang to the paddy wagon every court day to sit in the plexiglass booth in cuffs trying to get whatever new lawyer to defend him.
