So I'm a custodian, a glorified janitor, at a state university. I'm about to get a raise of almost $10k a month in July. I already make enough to pay my bills and go out to eat and to the bar multiple times a week. The job requires no college education and the hardest actual work is when I need to shovel snow during a blizzard. Besides all that it's smooth sailing. I have enough to live off of, medical and dental, holidays off, and PTO separate from my sick time.

Do you get boned by the students like in visual novels? Do you have a talking broom with a drinking problem? Are friends with dust and the goblins that come to fix your shoes at night?

After this raise I will make $50k a year, which is considered "poverty" but it works for me. Apartment rents are down where I am so I can get one of my own, but I don't mind living with roommates for a bit.

Thats a neat website. Where I grew up to where I moved was only 1.3% lower total, house prices were like 38% lower though. Margarine is 58% more expensive. Weird.
