I thought goth and emo "subcultures" went the way of disco and grunge.

It was never really gone but TikTok and insta brought it back to a wider audience. Just wait and see Grunge make a return as well.

Goth subculture is the next big thing about to get cooked in the underground music scene, the last few years the darkwave/death rock/post-punk/goth rock sound has been getting popular again.

Emo is in another revival stage, with a bunch of mid00's mallcore bands touring again (When We Were Young fest and the likes) and zoomers trying to emulate the late 90s early 00s sound with some Revivalcore.

Grunge came back, too, in the form of nu-grunge which zoomers eat up and I find really boring. Heavy shoegaze, moan-core like Deftones are popular again, and the more female centric baddie-core, which means more metal, but I'll include it here because it's just as boring.

As an 'elder emo', as in someone who was into it in like 2001, I actually saw a zoomer that looked straight out of Warped Tour from that era. The make-up, hair, and the fucking Fenix TX shirt was on point. It made me pause for a moment. I won't lie, I kind of loved it. If it wasn't a 19 year old girl my old ass would have sparked up a conversation about music with them.

I'm around your age, would totally have smashed. 19 isn't 13. She can drive, vote, work, etc. I would have had her running around in boy shorts with her tits out at my place while I blast Brand New and Senses Fail. Nothing wrong with going for young ass, I have no interest in chicks my age. She could give you 6 kids and never become a tramp like the rest of her generation, I view it as a rescue operation. I don't date broads over 30. Only pussies and male feminists think 18 is too young.
