I live in what is mostly an expensive, safe neighborhood. I live amongst a bunch of white people, many of whom are older/retired. My best neighbor friend is a woman that's 40 years older than me; we just chill on her porch sometimes and talk. Up until now, the worst that's ever happened is a neighbor's dog, who likes me too much, slammed into me and knocked me down pretty hard when he got out and I didn't see him barreling towards me at full speed (he's a huge mastiff mix mutt).

What I didn't know, when I bought my house, is that the property in back of me is a rental. It had been OK, but now a family of blacks with a bunch of kids moved in. They have ZERO manners. The kids were constantly coming into my yard to play and leaving a shit ton of their toys, including bits of chalk, all over it.

No way in hell am I going to try and do the "neighborly" thing by walking over there and trying to talk to them. I'm not risking getting chimped out on.

I just dished out the money to have a fence put up and I wish I could send them the bill. I'm sure my tax money is paying for her kids and their rental fees anyway.

Local code usually restricts the use of barbed wire or similar devices but there are workarounds, if the fence is high enough that accidental injuries won't happen the tips of a chain link fence can be twisted to a sharp point or for other fences there are "decorative" spikes or "bird spikes".

It would have to be some large, mature roses or other thorny plants, but destroying a fence is safe and easy. Taking apart a well-planted thorn garden could get a nigger hurt. It would also be impossible to eliminate a rose barrier by just plowing into it and saying "Oops! I fell!", but that might work with a fence.

Such barriers were frequently employed as defences in the old days: basically nature's own barbed wire, and the added bonus is that the pointy, angry, living fence gets bigger and meaner every year, and it's pretty to boot.
