Why has he got this weird fixation on psych wards being hell for trans people? I've been in psych wards, and there were a few trans people who were treated with as much dignity and respect by the staff and all the other crazy people as anyone else there.

Really, the only problem I can think one would run into are residents getting belligerent simply because they're batshit crazy. There's always a few problem children. Everyone else is usually chill, though.

It's not. When I was in the hospital, there were rooms two people shared, and rooms with only one bed in them. Men shared a room with men and women shared a room with women. Trans people go into the rooms with only one bed.
