@Null 's former neighbor, Kent Hovind, is a Young Earth Creationist who fell into the "sovereign citizen"/tax-protester movement and has been anti-government for longer than he has been preaching. He is now suing the United States of America and others.
Background
"Dr." Kent Hovind (debate over whether or not he is an actual "Dr" comes from the fact his university accepted this PhD thesis) admitted in recorded videos that he himself produced that he avoided paying income tax for 28 years and committed the crime of structuring (withdrawing money from a bank in amounts meant to avoid the notice of the U.S. Federal Government). Kent and his wife were arrested, charged, and sentenced to fines and prison time (her 1 year, him 10). The trial was hilarious and even at the arraignment the magistrate had to tell Kent he was being deliberately stupid (No primary source). Kent was released in 2015 and appears to have not changed at all. His basic defense in the case (which his lawyer failed to represent) was that he was not required to pay any income tax (either because the "owner" of his work was not "of this world" [he even had his business licenses issues to the "Kingdom of Heaven"], or because he was not a "citizen" of the "United States of America").
Clipped section of Judge Rodgers' order where she reminds everyone Kent's business licenses were issues to the "Kingdom of Heaven":
Some of the following clips may seem old (because they are), but Kent still very much believes all of this. He has been told to not talk about it by his right hand man Ernie Land (A.K.A. Doc Fog):
Archive of a video that Kent himself produced showing Kent admitting to evading taxes (I've saved the full clip, but it was too long to add to OP. Kept getting errors):
Archive of Kent rambling about why he thinks he isn't a citizen of the US (Again, I have full backup. Couldn't upload full vid):
Archive of Kent Hovind's completely asinine calls from prison that he *knew* were recorded. Details include him telling him wife he probably will not change after he gets out, telling his son to hide assets, telling his son to hold onto money (presumably, to avoid confiscation), and saying he will not pay the desired taxes until he his "shown the code":
I started this as an LLP thread, but some interest was shown in Kent's past. Years ago, I lived in Pensacola, FL (where this guy started his ministry), so I've been following him for awhile.
Answers to some questions:
Present Day
Kent got out of prison to find his that his wife wanted a divorce (a HUUUUUGE no-no in his sect of Christianity) and his son (who had previously sold the property to himself to avoid it being confiscated by the government) evicted Kent from his "own" home. He remarried an anti-vaxxer named Mary Tocco, who left only a few months later due to credible threats that someone was going to kill her and Kent and because she felt disrespected by Kent and the board of DAL.
So, he got married again (a definite no-no). Somewhere between his second and third marriage, there was a splintering in Kent's congregation, which resulted in one Theo Valentine from leaving the compound.
Theo Valentine is a former employee/contractor of Kent who has Judas-ed him, and now almost exclusively makes Anti-Kent content.

Some of the greatest hits (All have been archived but were too long for OP. Since the new lawsuit, Hovind seems to be flagging and deleting his own vids more, including some of his hilarious comments on what he will do with the money when he wins. I'll find a place to host them and add my own links):
Kent Hovind versus The World
Kent Hovind and his "lawyer" (who is not a lawyer) are suing the U.S. of A. (obvious), Margaret Catherine Rodgers (The judge on Kent's case that Hovind claims said his crimes were "worse than rape"), The estate of John David Roy Atchison (Prosecutor of Kent's case), Michelle Heldmyer (Prosecutor of Kent's Case), Scott Schneider (An IRS agent that Kent claims has been harassing him for years), and Alan Stuart Richey (Kent's attorney that lost him the case -- though it seemed unwinnable anyway).
Everyone being sued except Kent's attorney, Richey, are all being sued for pretty much the same stuff -- Kent thinks the United States is forcing him to
work the job of "tax collector" for the Federal Government and that there was a conspiracy to take down his YEC operation of which the sued parties were complicit. He is just suing his attorney because he is incompetent.
Surprisingly, he is not suing Robert Baty (a man who writes blog posts as though he is schizophrenic and that Kent claims has been called "out of retirement" from his job of IRS to harass Kent). It's surprising because Kent has acknowledged this person and there is actual evidence he wants to harass Kent such as the name of his website -- kehvrlb.com or Kent E. Hovind versus Robert L. Baty. Baty is also frantically documenting this case.
Here are some clips from the initial complaint that are probably a good sign of how well this is going to go....
Evidence they are taking the "sovereign citizen" approach to the lawsuit (if there is any evidence of this tactic ever working before, please let me know. I could not find any):
Detailing which of God's laws were broken by the defendant (this is in an Addendum, which I guess is better than the main part of the document, but the "Thou shalt not kill" bit is still gold):

Answers to some questions:
- How did this guy go through University if he's this weird? Patriot "University" is a non-accredited uni. Please take the time to read his "thesis" I linked above. No respectable doctorate or PhD grad would consider it an actual thesis. It literally includes a poem that he thought of while writing as a stream of consciousness.
- What was his major? A PhD in Education is what he claims to have.
- Has he been diagnosed with anything? If so, was he on medication? If he was, that might (partially) explain why prison had such a detrimental effect on his mental health. They're not known to be good when it comes to providing medication for inmates unless they're about to die. Kent does not believe in modern medicine and, in fact, was chastised by his congregation when he went to the hospital for Lyme Disease. Both he and his son have been reprimanded by the government for selling vitamins as "anti-cancer" drugs.
- How many times has he been to prison? Only once, as far as I know, but he has been in legal trouble his entire life, mainly due to arguing with IRS agent Scott Schneider.
- Has he only been imprisoned for tax evasion? Tax Evasion and "structuring," which isn't technically tax evasion. It's meant to avoid detection by the IRS.

- Child drowns at Kent's newest compound (Dinosaur Adventure Land or DAL)
- Mediators try to salvage Kent's family because after he got out of prison, he refused to accept that if anything was put in his name, government could take it. He has not seen his grand children in five years because of this. (Proof Kent really hasn't changed since he got out of prison)
- Kent is friends with a convicted pedophile. He claims the man was framed by members of the Bohemian Grove secret society.

Another order (saying that the complaint requires further amending) - (Download Link)
What's interesting in this order:
- Court has said Hovind has continuously submitted paperwork over the page limit without proper authorization (his complaint was 50 some odd pages, and 25 pages is the limit)
- Court has warned Hovind that his complaint has at least three potential grounds for dismissal and has recommended Hovind address these points before filing another amended complaint. Those points are:
- The Federal attorneys and Judge he is suing are protected under judicial immunity
- Hovind is doing things in the wrong order. His lawsuit can be dismissed if filed before his sentence has been invalidated, which it has not been
- Hovind is suing 10 years after the damages were brought to him, but the statute of limitation on these things in Florida is only 4 years ("Florida’s four-year statute of limitations applies to such claims of deprivation of rights under 42 U.S.C. §§ 1983and 1985" - Chappell v. Rich, 340 F.3d 1279, 1283 (11th Cir. 2003))
