Chaz doesn't look like a darn, dirty CISHIT. So I Googled. Found a surgery fundraiser (archive) and learned Chaz is "Queer, Trans and Intersex. Thank goddess!

I'm not sure but it doesn't sound like it was for SRS. Sounds like it was something to do with their back and something that had only come up in the past ten years. I feel like SRS would be something most dysphoric trans people want from shortly after the time they become cognizant of their bodies:

Well it was something his insurance denied coverage for I know that. Im also not aware of SRS costing $60K as the fundraiser says the goal is 1/3rd the cost of the surgery.
