In Bhutan, the people like phallic symbols. They drive away evil spirits & give you wealth & good luck. They even have a phallus temple. There are also phallus blessings (with wodden dicks of course & it's not a sex orgy).

That reminds me, i was told by someone recently the best amulet for protection is not those turkish eye beads or anything like that but this funny looking guy.

Its the egyptian god Bes, is supposed to be the most ancient ward ever and this person swore any figure or drawing of this guy anywhere in your home btfos evil spirits like one of those automated israeli machine guns.

Is not the first time i've heard about something similar, in other cultures theres also demon charms that are used not to attract but to ward of evil eye or other demons, i kinda like that twist.

I have a jpeg of Bes in my desktop btw, just in case.

Interesting that Bes is still being used in modern days. Using scary faces as an apotropaic has a long history. The Greeks used to use Medusa's head, Medieval Cathedrals had gargoyles and grgrotesque. I don't put any stock into amulets and apotropaics, though I really like the vampire hunter aesthetic of crosses, garlic, etc.

The herms look comical but apparently were a big deal. You vandalized one of these things and you better hope no one found out who did it.

God same here. When I was a little kid I had a lot of weird beliefs about nightmares. But I also had awful nightmares literally every single night and the only thing that stopped it was a dreamcatcher. I was also afraid to talk about my nightmares because I felt like the entities in them would come back to "get" me or hurt me in some way. Have no idea why. I don't get nightmares as much anymore and the few I do I have gotten since I was a young teenager so I'm more confident in them and know how to break out. Everyone in the nightmare just stops and stares and I wake up shortly after.
I keep dreamcatchers in almost every room. I have a hand made one from an Ojibwe tribe (half brothers side of the family) that I keep near my bookshelf.

My half brothers mother saw a cardinal before he died (pancreatic cancer). They're considered messengers of hope and spirits, a lighter version of crows. The cardinal stuck around before leaving.
I'm not sure if this is supernatural, preternatural, or just "natural and we don't understand it yet", but I'm CERTAIN spiders are more intelligent than they "should be" for their size.
You spend enough time around them watching them work and seeing how they interact with the world and it becomes pretty intriguing to see what they can do. Now whether than intelligence is in any way like that of animals is a tangential matter, but I'm sure of the first part.
Some spiders like jumping spiders are capable of strategic thought so absolutely are they capable of self awareness. They can recognize your face and are aware of when they're being filmed (mostly recording lights but still, they're curious). Bees and wasps have facial recognition. We underestimate their intelligence.

Oh, here's one my mother told me: no mirrors in front of doors. Always keep them perpendicular. Having them face the door allows spirits to enter. She also hated my sister in law's mirror because she kept saying it gave her bad vibes.

As for me, I get deja vu dreams sometimes. It can be something as simple as reading a PM on my laptop or looking out the window, I'll get a feeling I've done it before or seen it before. It's not clairvoyance but it sure seems like a watered down version of it.

I believe in synchronicity because it happens far, far too often to me. Just two completely unrelated things happening at the same time like, a few examples. It'd be one thing if it was just every now and then but I have streaks where they happen days in a row, multiple times a day.

A podcast I was listening to, which I'm like 99% sure was MATI lmao, made a click sound from somebody dropping something right when the automated lights at work turned above me. The lights don't make a sound.

I was talking to someone in a group chat and I mentioned how I hate coffee. Right after I send it, a coworker asked if I liked coffee. He was too far away to see anything on my phone.

I was doing my job and listening to music and the lyric that says "are we having fun yet" played at the same time, a coworker asks "Are we having fun yet?" to me. My phone was in my pocket and I was listening on a Bluetooth earbud set to nearly mute so I could talk.

I also heavily believe in luck due to how comically unlucky I am. I can't really give any examples without power leveling but I've had friends comment on how often unfortunate things happen to me. My friends have witnessed it and have commented on how I must have pissed off a deity or have to be cursed to have the horrific luck I seem to have in day to day life.

Which, I'm not complaining about. At this point it just rolls off my back. Whatever it is out there that doesn't like me so much, I stay cheerful out of spite. Don't really have any rituals that "improve" luck, I simply find it to be inherent.

I have this type of shit happen incredibly often. I try not to believe that it is anything because it does make me feel schizo (:_( However, my pet schizo theory is that such things happen to snap you back into a more wary state, where you are more cognizant of how peculiar consciousness is.

I have the exact same issue. :story: Word for word, basically. I will have the most ridiculous situations happen to me, and it all resembles stuff out of tragicomedies. My schizo theory for this one is that being hyper-involved in your surroundings and hyper-aware of them will make you attract+notice situations like these way easier.

I keep seeing repeating numbers on my clock. 2:22, 3:33, 4:44, 5:55, etc. Sometimes I go a months without seeing any, then suddenly they start appearing again. I don't know why. I'm not the type of person to obsessively check my phone either. For instance today I was doing fitness stuff in the basement, minding my own business for like an hour and a half or so, reading a book in between sets, then as I wrap up and pick up my phone it's 4:44, and I didn't check the time at all before that. Or I'll start up my vehicle and then 2:22 appears on the clock, and it's not like I timed it that way either. I think that maybe if I was trying to signal myself from a different dimension I might try to do it that way, although I am not sure what I am signaling. Am I on the right path? or the wrong one! Lord only knows why I go months without seeing any then suddenly many weeks at a time.

Reminds me how weirdly whenever i check the clock on my phone or in a car's radio the last year or so it's usually either about to already some time that ends with ":33". If I was a schizo I'd probably make some batshit theory about that seriously instead of humorously like I could if I wasn't so undead feeling the last 2 years or so. Still it's a weird/funny coincidence.

In superstitious circles, this type of repeating number phenomenon is referred to as seeing angel numbers. Generally it’s seen as a good omen for the observer.

I experienced something similar to this for a stretch of time a few years ago, only it was the number 108, so not repeating. I learned a lot about Buddhism as a result.

Bringing the conversation back to dicks.

The Shiva lingam or phallus of Shiva is worshipped in Hinduism. In order to obtain blessings, they perform Rudhra Abishek and provide offerings such as fresh flowers and rice, anoint it with oil and pour over other liquids like milk and honey. It is placed on a base called the yoni to represent fertility and the unification between male and female energies.

Numbers haven't left me alone all week. Today I saw:
11:11 - no other clocks in the room, first time looking at my phone today
5:55 - finished up doing a thing for my neighbor, vehicle clock
4:44 - spoke to a relative who is older and just told me about the pneumonia they had, in kitchen galnce at oven.
11:11 - on a group call with some friends, funny call, glance over at my desk clock

I'm going to figure out this mystery. It's unnerving, because I don't actively seek out repeating clock numbers.

I've seen several people over the last couple days (especially on 4chan) asking things like "Did CERN turn on the collider again?" or "Did we hop timelines?" and even some old memes resurfacing. What's that about?

I assume it's because CERN got famous for the hunt for "God's particle" and particle physics potentially talking about alternate timelines. Think "Angels and Demons" but in real life.

Theories surrounding CERN and timeline hopping have been a staple of /x/ (and occasionally /pol/) for about a decade now - Mandela effect, Berenstain vs Berenstein timeline, et cetera. Although reality has been absurd these past few years, I never put much weight on it being wilfully altered down to the subatomic level.

Let me be more specific. I know about the CERN thing, but why the recent uptick? Just the general vibe in the air since the inauguration?

This channel discusses cern a lot and links it to pretty much any sort of unexplained "spiritual" phenomena.

It fairly often cites other channels/social media creators as sources of info so I assume they all circle jerk each others audience for growth. Found this channel when I was digging into conspiracies after the trump shooting, and its seemed to have picked up steam since then.
