this theory isn't correct. Only some women openly advertise to everyone that they're bisexual, and those women are typically in it for opportunistic reasons (usually impressing men). In this woman's case, though, I think it's largely motivated by career reasons (insane that we live in times in which who you want to fuck would be remotely relevant to your career trajectory) but also possibly standard pick me reasons.

I think this is a general liberal-brained thing. I've had guys insist I was probably bisexual solely because I commented on certain actresses being pretty. I think people often like searching for idiosyncrasies where none exist.

I think this is because being LGBT on its own makes you more likely to be promiscuous and men are easier to get than women so a bisexual is more inclined to fuck around with men.
I think it's also just because men reward women for expressing sexual interest in other women (e.g. many find it attractive), while nobody thinks a guy wanting to get bummed by other guys is flattering. So straight women have more incentives to lie about being interested in other women, while gay guys have more incentives to lie about being into women - both groups end up claiming to be bisexual, but the former is just straight and the latter is just gay. LGBT calculus is something else.
