Actually got to watch the pilot in school as a kid.
I dont give a shit, Mel Gibson is in it. It makes it better.>Erm but chuddy, don't you know that Pocahontas is heckin' pRoBlEmAtIc and sympathizes with the racist, fascist colonists that did terrible things to the natives?

I think it's just being able to separate the art from the artist, or in this case its fans, and judging it as its own thing.I have to wonder what's happened? To us? To this place? The farms. The spark of anger, of cynical realism vs idealism it...it's still here but it's like it's gone dim. To embers where once was a great furnace of righteous indignation is now but a puff of smoke and hot air.
You knew you were in for a good day whenever the teacher rolled out the TV with this playing.
Funny how they replaced him with Zachary Levi for the Chicken Run sequel, and Levi ended up also being a MAGA chud.I dont give a shit, Mel Gibson is in it. It makes it better.
I bet if you just made a cartoon that was about going on simple adventures like Popeye it would do gangbusters. People are so starved for that kind of content. This is now THE American animation thread, post only the most patriotic cartoons drawn by the whitest family men of our generation:

I'm genuinely retarded and liked the Bee Movie. It's a weird-ass premise that goes really far with it and would, in any other universe, be completely unmarketable. Reminds me of the weird stuff I write.Go and rewatch it, you probably won't see what you saw in it the last time you watched it.
I mean if you want the kids to kill themselves sooner than this is perfect.20 year old mentally ill college students? Of course those still exist. I took this photo at least a year ago, but my therapist's office actually has special Steven Universe screenings for use in therapy:

(I've googled the events and nothing came up, so I'm pretty sure I'm safe to post these and not dox myself)
Can someone please explain to me that whole weird not-Scooby Doo Mystery Skulls fan animated cinematic universe that happened a few years back. That was MLP adjacent, right? It's so fucking weird that it feels like it has to be.I think it was just down to a combination of dedication on the part of the creatives and the fact that the bronies were genuinely internally supportive to one another. There seemed to be very little internal drama within that group, most of the bad shit seemed to come from where they rubbed up against other fandoms or from where they just did something really really spergy and/or disgusting. They seemingly went out of their way to squash and contain internal strife in a frankly professional and adult manner.
The animator was a brony and dhd prior mlp fan animations, that's why it has a MLP feel. Can someone please explain to me that whole weird not-Scooby Doo Mystery Skulls fan animated cinematic universe that happened a few years back. nice try weeb, but i know japanese when i see itNon ho mai letto un fumetto di zerocalcare in vita mia.

Perfect descriptor.Brother Bear is basically Ice Age but written by people who didn't understand what made Ice Age charming.
Everything after Season 2 @Judge Holden can easily skip, THAT'S when they started leaning HEAVILY on the periphery audience. My man, I say this entirely without irony, MLP:FIM is a legitimately good children's show. It's got a decent production value, most of the characters are pretty fun, and the writing and VA work doesn't make you as the babysitter want to kill yourself. If you ignore all the brony shit it's a good old fashioned kid's cartoon like the kind they used to air in the early 2000s.
It's sad how relevant the "just don't go" speech still is today.I started watching my DVD collection of the Critic. The first episode was good.
She also lost interest in Nimona the moment the two gay characters held hands, which made me lol.
Here’s the thing that I think people often miss about Mulan. She doesn’t dress up as a man and join the army to give the middle finger to the expectations and traditions of her culture, but to honor them. Mulan’s father teaches her that the three most important things in life are respecting her ancestors, protecting her family, and safeguarding her family’s honor. Now, ideally, these three priorities should be in alignment. But when Fa Zhou is called up to serve in the Imperial Army, those three priorities are suddenly thrown out of balance. If Mulan lets her father go to war, she will be respecting his wishes (respecting her ancestors) and ensuring that the family’s honor is intact, but she will not be protecting her family, because her father will almost certainly die.well. Honestly Shang does have a momentary wrestling with his emotions when Mulan is revealed and she tries to explain her motivations for tricking all of them. Like moments before he just found out his Dad got killed and was pursuing an enemy force in a mix of duty and revenge. Like they do animate him having conflict about her motives before the court faggot incel rages at her.
Mulan does have the whole girl power shit, but it’s much more tolerable and is more about Mulan feeling like a fuck up which she is.
See, the thing is…it is damn hard to write a portrayal of Injuns in any medium that doesn’t end up offending somebody. There are just so many stereotypes and tired tropes floating around that it is almost impossible to write a character that doesn’t fall into at least some of them. By deciding to make this movie Disney was pretty much setting itself up for a lose/lose situation. The injins were bitching and complaining before Pocahontas even first came out, Disney also seems more than happy to quietly forget about it. It will never get a live action remake because it'll be too controversial and because redskins are poor and cannot be bilked for easy money the way that the chinks can.
i already hate this.Pilot that released recently by Nico Jiang, who's apparently worked on Ramshackle and some ZZZ shorts:
