THIS THING IS FUCKING BUSTED! If im ever replaying the game, i know what build im going for.

Yrliet just took it and tossed it away when i tried to put it on lol.
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that item in game. I thought that lore was too niche to make it in. Heinrix confiscated mine when I tried to put it on.
I'm not fully certain, but I believe there are some big changes to end game slides if you do keep it somehow. WOTR has a couple of items that affect end game slides, too.

Also, you're pretty close to completion. Chapter 5 is extremely short, sadly.

Yeah, it’s a unique slide that happens with your own choices,

Like even if you’re the most Dogmatic Chad possible, you’re still becoming Dracula.

Eating brains is perfectly normal. Chorda said so.

Fuck Necrons! annoying You have to kill them in one turn so they cant regenerate (guess they had to make the game harder somehow). Pretty cool you get a new party member for being a dogma chad.

Finally finished the game. It was pretty fun but felt like the game got a bit too easy around act 2 (then again, i was playing on normal) The characters weren't as strong as say Pathfinder but they kept me interesting enough. I liked there were tons of items in the game that makes any build somewhat viable. Keeping track of everything, from skill and item would get a bit annoying however. The ending slide took forever considering it didint feel like what you did really seemed to matter in the grand schema of things.

I have some data mined spoilers for dark heresy,
So there's apparently 4 companions in the spires of act 1 of DH, A female magos biologis, a female blank,a male 'spy,' and Aspyce Chorda, yes the brain eater's mother with a officer class and rogue trader origin. Not sure if stuff will be changed or cut, the game isn't in beta yet so stuff may not end in the final product.

I am in the end of my priest-melta-build run and while starting off weak, he's become top DPS alongside Argenta. And the items you get for a melta build are crazy good. Very fun build.

I usually play as some sort of officer character, because it seems natural that a character in a leadership position should have leadership related abilities, and besides being able to give companions extra turns and buffs is a huge advantage. That said, this type of character almost always always ends up turning into a physical pushover later in the game, with almost no ability to fight on his own, and I end up wishing I could leave him behind and take a more capable officer like Jae or Cassia instead. Am I doing something wrong or would it be better to just make a warrior, soldier or psyker instead?

I had little trouble with an Officer build. He wasn't a tank but with the support of his party he was more than capable. Much more. There's also a two-stage approach to careers (well, three technically) where your opening career qualifies you for several of the more advanced careers which you can pick from, each taking the base concept in a new direction. Jae is a party member who starts as Officer (no spoilers) and I gave her the advanced class of "Vanguard" which is a kind of front-line tank. Probably not meta but lots of fun as she parried and counter-struck her way through the thick of it. Yes, I was playing on Unfair.

So from an officer you might go that route and be pretty darn resilient, you might go "Grand Strategist" and lean heavily into support. You might go Master Tactitian and be something of a glass cannon. Though not that much glass - they can be pretty tough.

Your archetypes are very key to your build, but they're far from the be-all and end-all. With the right talents and gear, you can make very well-rounded and capable characters in all sorts of ways. But if you want to avoid officer but still be a leader or men, a Soldier or Warrior can still be one - keep in mind the archetype is only part of your background. If you're a Noble Soldier, you're still a Noble and might be in charge by birthright. If your background is Navy Officer, that's your background even if you pick Operative - maybe you loved to go target shooting peasants during shore leave.

Anyway, if you're worried about your officer getting plinked first round every round, don't be. They can be pretty tough.

I was a Noble office and i admit, it was pretty boring standing behind and let others do the work for you. But then i got Master Tactician and watched, as i buffed my squad to such a disgusting degree, my entire party was build around me and my buffs. Linchpin was so OP and i always had max momentum because of it

the only two difficult parts for an officer build as i recall is the mission where you get ambushed in your bedroom and your allies slowly trickle into the map to reinforce you and the part of Commoragh where you don't have any companions yet. But I played officer in vanilla they have a lot of new shit I'd like to check out now like mixing officer with the servo skull is probably cool.

First playthrough, played very loyal to the emperor (as anyone would of course) which was fun. Second playthrough, try to be chaos, it really is not roleplay, is just choosing the dumbest options.
Its why I have never played a heretic run. Most of the choices are just be a braindead psychopath. If it was specifically Khorne that was responsible for this then sure. It's not, its Tzeentch. The god that is the opposite of tard rage. There are options in other spots, especially the Bloodspun Web DLC that push more interesting corruption. Its just not as common.

It's like
one or two lines of dialogue by itself that doesn't change anything else. If you ignore the "slide" that says you eat people you can use this device with zero problems if you tell your retarded companions to fuck off.

Played the beta of Dark Heresy.
I like it

some tough fights even in the early hours.

Normal feels more like how unfair feels in RT.

Starting archtypes are all there except blade dancer. and a new one call mystic that goes all in on sanctioned pyker.

Santic pyker got a big nerf and biomancer is not even in game.

Leveling up has been simplfied yet still deep enough.

you now get perks that can be attached to abilites and attacks, e.g a pyromancer perk that you can add to any attack to cause some stacks of burning.
