Sorta like the Emperor's New Clothes, but instead of the kid yelling, a crazy guy who's also naked, but totally believes that he has awesome clothes runs up to the king and starts arguing about who's clothes are better.

It's fair to say that persons involved in the shitstorm are essentially little emperors. From Dobson to Wu it's a regular Gamerdamrung: The Guns of the Lolcows.
 
I just hope Jace has the common sense to realize when enough is enough, especially if he catches the eye of one of the larger news companies and ends up on the nightly news. But then again...one part of me kind of wants to see that.

I seriously doubt the law in Mass. is going to care about Jace if theLFB didn't explicitly consent to him recording (given Jace had consented to theLFB recording). I don't believe the consent has to go as far as to what the use of the recording will be... but I honestly don't have the answer to that right now. It also might depend a little on theLFB's home state's law. If they're a one-party state, Mass. is the only state that might care.

The other question is whether there might be a civil cause of action... but the issues with that sound in tort law, and there could be conflict of laws issues there. If Jace is lucky, theLFB's state is a one-party state, because there'd be a fun argument to make in court there that the law of the other state should apply. I can't say it'd prevail but it'd be interesting nonetheless.

I really doubt there'd be a civil suit though. theLFB's best chance for getting out of this without being doxxed is Jace getting slapped around by the cops over recording. A civil suit would make someone's real name a matter of public record... and that happening in the midst of something like GamerGate is not something you should call down on yourself.
