Hell even the UK did something when petrol prices went over 90p a litre! We blockaded petrol stations and oil refineries and shit, Tony Blair had to concede then say 'Do it again, and we're sending in the army!'
Now petrol's over £1.10 a litre yet nothing...
We need to be more like the French in that regard.

UK/Euro tanks are generally smaller too. My own car has a gas tank capable of holding just 12 gallons.
The UK also let the EU flood their lorries into the UK during said strike, and a lot of companies simply swapped to pan-euro truck haulers. UK haulers lost out and it also became a bit easier to reclaim the VAT on fuel, which lessens the impact quite a bit.
There's Post-Brexit plans to simply abolish VAT/Fuel Duty on all commercial vehicles if you're UK based.

They do use a different gallon to make themselves feel better because it looks like you get 25% more MPG. Jokes on them for being on an island with no resources other than bankers and a little coal.

Yes, and the people in America most likely to riot are the people who want more croissants and whatever the fuck they want. The people least likely to riot are the ones who realize that those croissants have to come from somewhere.
When those people move to do violence, governments get replaced wholesale. But I suppose it's laziness not to want to rebuild your government every time Congress votes wrong.
