There’s a fund, sometimes called a sinking fund that is comprised of levies on individual owners. This is usually for maintenance of communal areas and repair and replacement of common building structures. In the event of an unusual collective cost a special levy can be raised. In this case it would be “speshul”. It’s likely the strata has building corporation insurance for defined events but also possible that all owners might have to contribute to a legal defence. It’s possible this might get them offside. John could lose friends. Oh. Wait.
No, there is a fund called the CRF (contingency reserve fund) This is a fund that all strata's must maintain by law in BC. The Strata Property regulations require that the CRF must have a minimum level of funding equivalent to 25% of the annual operating fund. Most strata's (if they know what they are doing) will have far more than this as they need to save for large projects that need to be done to repair and maintain common property. The money for the CRF is collected from monthly strata fee's, not levy's. The CRF may only be used for expenses if those expenses occur once a year or less (it's not a slush fund) Any legal judgement against the strata would be eligible for funding from the CRF as it meets the criteria. There may be some sort of insurance, but for the small amount of money he could win (but definitely won't) it would not be in the owners best interest to go through insurance as their insurance rates will skyrocket. Insurance for strata's in BC right now are currently at exorbitant prices.

I'm not sure if you're new to the Yaniv saga, or just haven't followed the strata activities, but dude.. that ship has already sailed.

Yaniv has been a nosy neighbor (putting up prohibited cameras etc), a total nuisance (meowing on his balcony, calling in bomb threats, attempting to sue his neighbors etc) for at least two years now...

The dude is in full Jihad against the strata already
It's one thing being that mental neighbour who pisses off the Strata, but he's elevating himself to being the mental neighbour that has pissed off the strata, and also taken legal action that has lost.

Once you cross the legal bridge, it's not really that the ship has sailed, it's more you've sailed the ship and scuttled it.

Yes. Specific local knowledge is always useful. Apart from some of your grammar, and semantics, we are essentially in agreement.

What a shit show if he added sovcit to his transshield?
"I don't need a license office I'm a Trans-canadain, your laws don't apply to me. I am going to sue you for $100,000" (common US amount)
AND He could become a Moorish citizen too..... El Bey Simpson..

Isn't one of the sovcit arguements that they are actually peasants or something and not applicable to tax or something? In a former crown colony and dominion of the British Empire like Canada, that arguement might just get some legs up here.

I will have to look up the subject, I am sure there have been Canadians who have tried going the sovcit route to avoid paying taxes.

Nah, even Canada has wised up to that horseshit. Meads v. Meads, 2012 ABQB 571 (CanLII) is an instant classic (and has become the "gold standard" against all the sovcit garbage, being cited in lots of sovcit-related cases throughout Canada ever since the comprehensive decision was issued).

The UK and Canada (and other like Az and NZ) have a variation called Freeman on the land

In the states the blacks have the Moorish American thing, they work it just like sovcits. They claim to be indigenous or some shit. It's commonly used to avoid traffic laws, lost your license? become a moorish american.
If you see "El Bey" in a name, good chance they're moorish.

Does/has this ever worked? If not why do people do this?
Tons of videos on youtube from just one site. Some do get away with it, kinda Like the Cop doesn't want to deal with their bullshit. I prefer watching the ones where the window gets busted out.

IMO most people do it just for the sake of arguing. They're so self-righteous and lonely (thanks to all the self-righteousness) that they'll throw major hissy fits any time anyone engages with them in a way they can't 100% control, particularly with cops. For whatever dumb reason I can't find the same videos on YouTube, but I've seen one of a guy who wasted everyone's time during rush hour on a subway refusing to show his ticket because he didn't have to, you're not the boss of me, wahhh, and another of a guy strutting into court just to say "I'm here for my proceedings but I don't have to tell you my name because you can't make me and now I am going to walk past you" and crying when he got tased.

So I'd say for some it's a last-ditch effort to get out of a petty crime that would be a lot easier just taking the ticket, and some go out of their way to do it because they have a need to argue with everyone.

A reminder that this jigaboo tried to case and sue multiple immigrant-owned salons out of their rightfully hard earned paper (because he always attacks easy targets) and even tried invading women-only gyms because he thought immigrant men were "barbaric" 🤨🤔

Nah don't give him any ideas, playa.

Usually they are flat-earthers and antivaxxers. They believe various conspiracy theories they read on the internet and Freeman of the land is just one of them.

For some maybe, but most believe that repeating the shit about gold-fringed flags and admiralty courts or how they're "traveling" means they get a way out of traffic tickets. Or how they don't have to pay taxes because their name in ALL CAPS on government documents is actually a corporation the government controls and they're actually entitled to free money. To sovcits and their spinoffs it's all magic formulas that befuddle the police and legal system into following your every whim, and some will pay hundreds of dollars to "lecturers" who will teach them these formulas on DVDs or seminars or fake colleges/diploma mills.

It's actually a lot like troonery come to think of it. Magic formulas to get out of legal consequences, free money, paying to "level up" your magic formula and become more effective, sounds like trooning out and the power of a troonshield to me.

Which if sovcits and troons share traits in common, that must make Yaniv the equivalent of the especially dumb and unlucky sovcit who can barely Gish gallop his way through an argument about admiralty law and always meets the police and judges who aren't dealing with shit and BTFO him physically and legally almost every time.
