Star Fox General Thread - One of Nintendo’s neglected franchises.

Panther being krystals' rival is funny because he's a fucking weird romantic dude and it fits with the comedy of the series.

Pray for all 5 of us Panther fans. With the series stuck in a constant reboot loop, we might never see him again.

(His line abt one of his favourite cafes being destroyed on Corneria is peak tho)

Did they remove the ability to get the bomb and the laser powerups in Corneria after the "save Falco" part? Where you have to do a split loop thingy.

I can't seem to do it in the remake.

I forgot how hard the final Star Wolf fight was. They're pretty vicious.

Started doing the challenges, starting with Ficchina. The normal mode tasks are straightforward outside of one for shooting down every antenna which is a borderline pixel hunt. Not the radar dishes, just the tiny narrow rods that I don't even remember from the original, I had to go around the map in circles trying to find any I missed in the clusters I shot down

Haven't tried the expert challenges yet but they're pretty devious, one is for shooting down every member of Star Wolf without performing a single somersault or U turn. Really fun idea for a challenge but I'll have to deactivate button combos or else my muscle memory will make me fail the task over and over

I wish that they hadn’t been quite as slavish to the N64 game and put some stuff from the SNES game in (Out of This Dimension, Fortuna, the sea creatures in Sector Y). My least favorite change was that they breedswapped General Pepper from a bloodhound to a golden retriever, I’m not sure why that bothered me.

I hope that they make a new game with the engine like they did with that Zelda game based on the Link’s Awakening remake, and I also hope that they keep everything from Adventures out of canon if they do.

Like I often mentioned, just like the recent RE Remakes, while the new voice acting could be seen as "better" due to it being more serious and professional, it causes the game to lack the campy charm of the original game.

Just compare the Mechbeth boss for example.

I like how Heavy and chaotic the explosives are in the original.

The entire artstyle seems weirdly off. Couldn't they just improve the graphics of the 3ds version?

It is one of the harder levels in the game. Those fucking pillars everywhere are a bitch.

Ran Titania today for the first time. Enjoyed it a lot. The entirety of Sector X is a huge improvement. Will have to do a warp run next to see that path.

Area 6 is immaculate. They nailed it.

Pretty sure that was just the setting. Can't remember what he did in Command. But the thing is, Star Wolf aren't 'bad guys' as such. They're mercenaries just like Star Fox. The difference is Star Wolf don't have any scruples about what jobs they'll take, whereas Star Fox have a code. This is how they could end up on the same side in Assault and Command.

Anyway, I liked Panther. He had a great voice and him trying to fuck Krystal will never not be funny to me. Too bad that, if it were today, Nintendo would probably try to edit all that out.

I hope Nintendo keeps the exposition at about the current level in the remake. A great strength of Star Fox is that the limited details let your imagination work.

Anyway, spoilers? Fuck you this game is 30 years old. The Venom 1 ending is obviously canon based upon the remake. A sequel or addon content is clearly being made. Looking forward to it.

Just gotta unlock Sector Z and then onto challenge mode, which looks great.
