People are just realizing that everything they remember about the localizations of old Nintendo games were translators just fucking about like always
The only difference really is now they do they/them pronoun tranny shit.
Woolsey did a shit job on a ton of old games even as a kid a lot of it was nonsensical but they were still better than the politishit shoved in.

I'm watching a playthrough of it. I do like how they fleshed out the characters. Star Fox and his team of mercenaries act like actual mercenaries motivated by profit. The gameplay looks okay. It's a remake of the 1997 rail shooter and they're keeping the gimmicky shit out of it (like the Wii U version which had the spaceship turn into a giant fucking chicken). The voice acting's ass. This might just be my bias towards the N64 version, but the original bosses sounded like they were about to die when you defeated them. The bosses in this game are like "Oh noes, you got me. Dang it."

Had a quick zip through the easy route of the game and can confirm that, yep, it's still Star Fox 64. Titania is still a pain in the ass to play through.

That's actually a thing from star fox 2 thing added into it which is neat. Wish I got zero when i saw it on discount at 5 below a little before corona time even with the weird control gimmicks but not gonna pay for it now lmao

Even Star Fox Zero, for how shity it was, had new stages to play.
Yeah and they sucked. The best parts of Zero were the ones that were lifted directly from 64. Really this entirely franchise is stacked in a "damned if you do damned if you don't" mentality. For as much now people are dickriding Assualt for not being another remake its still not a goid game by the end of the day and while Nintendo could have used their resources to make a new SF game there's no telling if it would have done well or not so they chose the safest option and I doubt fans even care about rail shooters anymore and just like the cast and setting.

They should make a Star Fox in a similar vein of how they made Sonic Frontiers. Incorporating the on the rails gameplay into an open world but its clear / fun to engage with the rail system.

I remember people liking assault in general with the issue being it's slightly too short and the on foot missions are mostly a slog save for the ones where you can jump between foot and vehicle to deal with shit in different neat ways. I mean unless perception's changed over the years I dunno.
