Spacebattles, and its offshoots - Who would win? A bunch of autistic nerds or a site and its tranny jannies?

Two things, I thought this post was actually rather interesting on the views SV and SB have about each other.

In addition, SV had a quest where they would play as the ROC (Republic of China). It recently had a very controversial vote that turned the thread into a shitshow with people blaming Spacebattles.


After the vote, the story apparently went off the rails.

It got bad enough that a mod had to step in.

I like how the one guy has a fucking wall of text as his signature. And of course it is some leftist bullshit. Jesus couldn't just make it a shorter quote had to put a fucking paragraph verbatum.

Also the broken english chink was 100% right that this was a stupid idea in the first place and it had no way to possibly end well. What did they expect exactly?

Something I have noticed with Spacebattles Creative Writing is that the stories are almost always some form a crossover, SI, or oftentimes both.
Is it just the nature of the site compared to something like AO3 or FFN that it has more of these kinds of stories?

Versus Debates and other power-scaling arguments are just crossover fanfics that you don't want to start writing.

I don't know. I mean, I noticed that as well, but I don't know if it is the nature of the site exactly. I would assume so, but it might also be a second order effect from the current state of nerd media. For all that SpaceBattles and similar places will try and claim that modern media is good there haven't been any good new franchises in a while. In re-doing the same old franchises over and over people feel that the regular exploration of their universes have given all that they can and so they start mixing up to add more.

Or many I am overthinking and the average midwit just can't properly write fanfics like the autistists of old and so they resort to just mashing their toys together.
