PlayStation Is Deleting 551 Movies From Customers’ Accounts, Reminding Us Nothing Digital Is Ever Truly Ours​

Sony is contacting PlayStation Store users who bought movies from the platform that were distributed by StudioCanal—like Terminator 2, Total Recall, and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind—to say that "you will no longer be able to access your previously purchased content from Studio Canal, and it will be removed from your video library." There's no mention of any refunds or make-goods for the affected users. Sony simply says the films are going away "due to our content licensing agreements," once again reaffirming the fact that you are never truly buying anything that's digital, just temporarily renting it.

At this point piracy is the most important tool for archiving and saving media. You can't even rely on the billion dollar corporations that make this stuff to preserve their own works properly. And often times their 'definitive' version is some poorly remastered or edited ruination of the original work like Lucas's idiotic Star Wars Special Editions.

It's a bigger media crime for companies to allow the words "buy" and "purchase" with digital downloads rather than "rent" or "license".

Lol, the goyim getting what they deserve. I've ranted about using XHDs on pretty much every thread, some scoff, some defend the poor innocent billion dollar monopolies - but at the end of the day - you're retarded cattle if you continue to rent forever. You're retarded if you trust a corporation, and you're retarded if you consoom in this economy. Goyim get milked, that's the long and short of it post-Epstein. Everyone should have everything they actually give a shit about DL'd onto an XHD because the entire goal of these shekeling companies and their bad practices is the complete removal of your property rights and everyone owning nothing. Some people still haven't gotten the message even though the WEF said it openly and in front of cameras. "You Will Own Nothing". This is why I don't buy modern slop, this is why I insult each console, and why I call people retarded for sucking a corporation's dick as if they're a shareholder or an ad rep. It's all gotta go.

Maybe because people have gotten tired about the tirades where you act like you're 7 and discovered piracy that most people who use this site would have already figured out by now, just saying.

its sony. the console doubles as a media entertainment system that can play movies and shows should your tv not be one of those smart tvs (impossible these days, they really put it on even the shittiest of models). though youd be better off using something like netflix or hulu (or your own discs if its the disc edition console) than buy movies straight from the store
 
I think it's really really funny how every single anime titty gacha even the mediocre ones are absolutely printing money but Sony can't make a single live service with a compelling aspect or gameplay loop.

Their cumulative losses on this slop must be in the trillions of dollars at his point.

Helldivers 2 feels more and more like an accident, between Sony own goaling themselves trying to push PSN on PC players and the devs actively trying to piss off the player base every patch (seriously, I haven’t seen a player base hate the developers this badly since I still played OSRS)

I keep saying it, at this point it would have made more financial sense to just light the money spent on these games on fire. You just know some bean counter at Sony is dreading just how much money Hulst is going to demand they throw at Horizon Hunters to keep it alive - despite literally no one else caring about his baby of a franchise…
