I might be wrong here but isn't Japan an incredibly socially conservative country, and during the time the samurai were an important part of society homosexuality would of been deeply frowned upon.

So you could say these people are forcing their values onto another culture; they're being cultural imperialists.

You're expecting them to know what a samurai even is beyond "guy who has a sword."

how the fuck would anything get done?

That's the point, nothing. They just want white, straight people to step aside (except for them, because they know better and are woke) and do nothing. They don't care if your ideas are amazing, your stories good. They'll choose a shitty, shitty writer who is a PoC over an amazing white one.

Couldn't be further from the truth, actually. It's well-documented that adult samurai would routinely take on teenage boys as committed romantic partners, separating when they became adults. The practice only became explicitly taboo when the country underwent Westernization during the late nineteenth century.

This, of course, makes it even more ironic that they'd single out a relationship with a twenty-year-old as pedophilia. This shit's sanitized.

Ain't that the same as Athenian men fucking the thighs of little boys?

Like... fucking a little boy is alright, but gods forbide you take it up your pork chute.

So what are these freaks so pissed off about? That they didn't decide to make Samurai Jack gay? So I guess by their logic they hate every movie and TV show ever made where the lead character isn't gay? I didn't even know this show was still on the air, and haven't watched it in well over a decade, but I'm pretty sure there was never any intention to portray Jack as gay from the get-go.

Or are they pissed because the female character has dark skin and Jack is supposedly "white" (despite being a Japanese Samurai)? Wouldn't they be happy about interracial relationships being a form of progress? That sounds more like something that Daily Stormer trolls would sperg over.

It's been 2 weeks since the series ended.
it's been more than a month since Jaashi became a thing.
why is this thread still a thing?

Ashi is Asian. They were bitching that Ashi was a prize for the cis white male hero.

Yes, Jack was a Japanese prince i.e.: not white. That didn't stop the whining.

Honestly, I didn't think the romance was handled that well. The episode where they fight the worm creature felt out of place.

Of course that's to be expected in a 10-episode season of a mostly action-oriented show. Then again, that raises the question of whether the romance was even necessary.

I'd have expected it would have been the white supremacists to be pissed off at a white male hero having an international relationship with a gook.

Oh they both hate white people miscegenation. For the supremacists, they are complaining about the superior white dude settling for an inferior nonwhite girl, and for the Social Justice assholes, it's the imperialist white guy aiming for a demure Asian chick.

At least the White Supremacist brand of idiocy doesn't involve an Asian dude being identified as a white guy for the sake of REEEEEing.
