Entitlement. They think that because there was a lack of queer representation historically and in cartoons in particular, that shows produced these days need to start catching up.

Just because they like having lesbian alien propaganda shoved down their throats doesn't mean everyone else does. I'll take good writing over tokenism any day.
 
I read some posts that exhibited pure denial of the pairing altogether and are convinced that Jack and Ashi will just spontaneously break up so that Ashi can go on gay lesbian adventures or some stupid shit.

LOL if Jack ends up getting her pregnant I can already imagine the reeeeing over a happy family. Those damn dirty heteros with their filthy hetero-made children.

The director was totally setting up a jack/dog pairing, but he chickened out because all the heteronormative people would have thrown him off a building if anything but a male/woman pairing was shown.

And because they probably never paid attention to the show or forgot it completely aside from lolfunny gifs on tumblr, they assumed that was canon. Especially since because of this little short, there's now a ton of Jack x Johnny fan art that's by my own admission pretty cute but that's it. Nothing canon about it.

I'll admit I really wanted that father/daughter relationship but because i've only kept up with it via /co/ levels of praise or outrage or both, I couldn't give much of a shit. I trust Genndy with his shit.

I remember a joke in Johnny Bravo where he is at the amazonian's island and is about to be sacrificed by being thrown down a volcano, The leader was like "we offer you this virgin sacrifice..." Johnny immediately interrupts her by saying "virgin?" gets thrown down into the volcano and procedes to be rejected.
The point being is it's implied that Johnny has had the sex with the womans before, the fact that people wrote fanfic on that one short is truely exceptional, also isnt the whole joke of Johnny Bravo being that he is terrible with women.

I dunno, I've never seen Samurai Jack but I think it's ok to not like 2 characters getting together in a show you like. Getting together changes the dynamic and if you liked the dynamic before that sucks, for example I thought it sucked when Mulder and Scully did in X Files.

Yeah but there's a difference between "eh I didn't really like the relationship aspect because I think it changed this story/character dynamic for the worse" and "REEEEEEEEEEE THIS IS PEDOPHILIA AND HOMOPHOBIA INCARNATE AND GENNDY MAKING THIS CANON HAS TRIGGERED MY DELICATE SENSIBILITIES BECAUSE I DEMAND EVERYTHING PANDER TO ME!!!11!1!"

...one is a reasonable reaction. The other is sheer unbridled autism.
