I'm but a simple salt miner, tending to my salt in the mines.
I didn't even know there was drama about the salt mine in the first place.
 
Here's a cold one for ya, Just let people post and have fun the way they want to and don't make these fucking gay ass self moderation threads. It's not like there's an argument for quality of content or image on this site when half the user base are men who wear dresses in fursuits.
 
I like the salt mine. I like laughing at spergs even when they come from the farms and hell, I sperg sometimes myself. Although I think bitching that the mine's not being used correctly is gay as fuck, I do agree that not enough salt gets posted. It's the tragedy of the commons, everyone assumes everyone else will pick up the slack. It seems like there's a simpler solution than complaining in threads about the direction of the forum until it gets shut down though, which is to post more salt, so I will start doing that.
 
I didn't know there was drama about the salt mines either, but really the only annoying thing I noticed about it is that a lot of threads here had a double in another forum. There's Dream Daddy Salt here and... another Dream Daddy thread in the Gaming subforum that might as well be the same exact thing. There's a double for GDQ, too, I think it's in Community Watch instead? So it seems more like people don't know the difference between what is fleeting salt like I thought the forum was for, and what deserves a more "dedicated" thread to it. I guess.

So really the Salt Mine is just an expanded Happenings thread from the news forum, only people comment on whatever it is a lot more here. I just wish the doubles thing could be less of a "problem".
 
Personally I'm not too into the Salt Mine, but only because I think the best topics are oddballs and obscure to semi-obscure people/groups/ideas. Going nuclear over celebrities or something small or just breaking just doesn't fit with how I enjoy the site. But if Kiwis dig it and it keeps other boards and threads from getting shot up, then I can't complain about it.
 
Just institute "salty roulette" where anytime a thread goes a full page of autistic circlejerking without a single piece of new content, everyone who posted on that page gets subforumbanned, and the only way to get unbanned is to go find a piece of salty content and present it with the person's fulldox.

I agree about Dream Daddy. I've actually gotten confused over the threads before. Maybe they should be combined.
 
Put a word fliter over salt that changes it to girlcock, or something else cringey when use non ironically bc it is cringe af now.

I feel like this is less your genuine opinion and more an attempt to gain more material for your Doxthrone.

But in all honesty, I feel like aside from making sure slapfights don't extend for a billion pages there's not a ton that needs to be done? It's the thread for spur-of-the-moment events and slapfights. Just have a smoke, kick back, and make sure everything doesn't burn to the ground.
