James Cameron had a bunch of awful 4K releases of his old movies that looked washed out or discolored. The first Avatar release has aliasing all over the place. The entire industry is run by artistic and technical incompetents.

i forgot what 4k transfer i was watching but the geniuses decided to digitally erase the film grain. it gave everyone and everything the appearance of clay or wax and took out a lot of the details that make 4k worth it.
