Because they spent some time in Imperial Italy before moving to Central and Eastern Europe, and intermixed with local Italians (more than they did with non-Italians). Ashkenazi Jews can be modeled as 50% Levantine and 50% European. Most of their European heritage is from Roman-era Italians. Roman-era ancestry is more preserved in Southern Italians than in Northern Italians due to endogamy.

Levantine ancestry also shifts the Ashkenazi and Sephardic populations southwards, so admixture with Germanics and Slavs doesn't make them more Germanic or Slavic-like.

Here are my autistic theories (I am an amateur racist btw):

- Homo Erectus left Africa and traveled extensively, settling Europe and Asia.

- Erectus branched out in Asia, evolving into Asian homo Erectus

- Australnesians (aboriginal Australians, natives of the Philippines/Thailand/etc) are all Denisovan/ Asian homo erectus hybrids.

- eurasians are Neanderthals/modern human hybrids.

- eurasians spread through the Middle East and asia (and eventually the Americas)

- Indians/pakistanis/bangladeshis are Eurasian/australnesian hybrids.

- CJK Asians are Eurasian/denisovan hybrids.

- Thai, Filipinos, etc are australnesian/CJK hybrids

- Africans are, actually, really diverse. They’re everything from pygmies to the KhoiSan to the biblical Kushites (Ethiopians). Some of them are super primitive, especially those in Ghana that are “20% ghost hominid” — yikes.
