Raise your kids on older media and they will have no problem sitting through a show from the '90s with the 4:3 aspect ratio. Netflix already has the entire older series on its platform, no issue.

People conflate this as a dishonest motivation, but in reality it’s the most honest there is. Where things have gotten murky is that modern works whose motivation is money get undercut by putting out a low quality product. One Piece is on the downswing and Oda’s intentions for the series conclusion is for it to be bigger than ever before, it’s only natural for everyone involved to try and capitalize on it as much as possible.

There is also a fact that this is a chance to clean up the early anime's pacing issues.
 
Curious to see how much cut content there is if they're trying to fit 100 chapters into 5 hours. Can't imagine it's going to cover everything if they're trying to keep it ADHD-compliant
 
Idgi, why would you watch the Toei anime in the first place when the manga is better because it has no bloat? You will get through most of the material faster anyway. Just watch the anime for the big fights.
