And found this interesting bit about ILGA (bsaically the biggest gay org) who had to kick out NAMBLA to retain its money/power.

After getting in big trouble for NAMBLA, IGLA's big move was to ban groups "whose predominant aim is to support or promote pedophilia". So they just can't have pro-pedophilia in in the name of their org basically. LOL.
And then, despite this insanity, Congressman Barney Frank said that IGLA was treated very unfairly.

I think the flaw in her reasoning is that there are many practices done regularly in the past that no longer are acceptable. Slavery, killing of helots as just a part of a citizen's normal training, animal (and at times human sacrifice), torture, beating one's wife and children, honor killings, etc. As the poet L.P. Hartley wrote, "the past is a foreign country; they do things differently there." We shouldn't necessarily judge the people of the past for their morals, but at the same time we shouldn't just allow those same things into today's societies simply because they were a part of the past.

It's an extremely dubious claim even taking what we have into account. You may as well argue that slavery in Ancient Greece had great benefit. It's like saying "The Aztecs were doing just fine until the Conquistadors showed up, so ritual human sacrifice must be a real good sociopolitical system!"

He's not referring to people who expose pedophiles, he's referring to "pedo hunter" groups. The people who bait pedos into meeting in public to assault them or harass them, etc. Documenting what people say and do is one thing, intentionally antagonizing people is another. I don't see how that would be an issue involving predator catchers. They catch pedos on sites that kids hang out on. I don't get the feeling there are many kids on here. But maybe I am wrong?

Seems like the pred catcher 'weirdos' aren't much different from KF users, except they are getting pedophiles arrested instead of doxxing random people (at least that is what I hear happens here, and there is a guide on here on how to avoid it, which upon reading, makes it sound like it happens a lot and is a serious issue.)

The website is for cataloging what people do on the internet, not for causing drama by harassing them. Null finds himself in enough legal trouble just backing up information. You can laugh at idiots all you want but you shouldn't be attempting to pozload my negholep. Its a thin grey line but its an important one to protect the validity of kiwifarms.

Some paedo hunters have even ruined investigations and criminal cases and the nonce gets away with it. You have to be extremely careful not to tip them off and to work with law enforcement to get them actually put in prison (or dead but that's always an edgy LARP and never goes anywhere). Documenting and archiving everything (except actual CSAM obviously) is what we do here and it makes a useful resource. It's helped get zoosadists and a couple of paedos locked up.

If you want to put your internet detective skills to good use, Europol and the Internet Watch Foundation have an initiative called Trace An Object. They collect CSAM and crop out all the child molestation and show only distinctive clothes, items and locations from the videos, and ask the public to identify them. So if you recognise a T-shirt that was only sold in a supermarket in Germany in the 2000s, for example, that helps narrow down where and when it was filmed and helps identify the victims and paedos.
