Are we expecting anything from this, or this strictly a "point and laugh" event?

This is just legal paperwork. They're just in court to set an agreed upon date for the trial.

Maybe 10 mins tops.

Next time will be more interesting as it's the criminal proceedings but I'd guess it will be a big nothing burger. They'll get a small fine at best and that will be the end of it

No way a BC court lays the smack down on two elderly Jews its pure NDP country out there

Today is the day for Miriam. Do we have any little birds at the court house to keep us up to date?

Hopefully we get some kind of nonsense from these nutjobs in court today. This place has been boring lately.

EDIT: A big nothing burger like always. Next court date is Dec 10th.

The MM write-up for today's hearing states the following:
[They] informed the court that they plan to submit a resolution letter to the Court and requested an adjournment to do so

Does anyone here know what a "resolution letter" is in this context?

In this case it probably means a letter written by JY that explains that the three of them were looking for the clit when some minority cop knocked on their door and made them really scared.

While I appreciate the stab at humour, I am curious for a serious answer. I did find a reference to a "Request for Resolution of Criminal Matter" form on the BC court website and am curious if this is what is being submitted - or if this is some other document.

I am not a lawyer, nor have I ever pretended to be one on the Internet. The finely-honed legal instincts of Russell Greer are as unfathomable to me as the process of manufacturing Twinkies would have been to Palaeolithic transsexual man.

That being said, I found this reference to resolution discussions [archive] under Canadian law. It appears to involve an attempt to negotiate a mutually agreed upon settlement between the accused and the court, that will bring any legal proceedings to a swift conclusion. I imagine that the Yaniv sisters will attempt to plead guilty to a lesser charge. It is possible they are doing this in order to clear the ground for Yaniv Jr's court cases next year. It could even be a testing of the waters, where they will gauge whether a similar tactic might prove beneficial in minimising Jonathan's punishment.
