Genuinely fuck copyright law when it comes to this stuff. It's why you don't see so much iteration in gaming anymore. No soup to work with, no good talented cooks, no meaningful source codes people with real talent and passion have access to. Just closed door bullshit and engines like unreal 1 and 2 held from the public because of middleware.
Statutory damages for copyright infringement are retarded. If you want to claim damages you should have to show actual damages like everyone else. It should require pushing a boulder uphill for 200 hours to demonstrate a single cent in revenue to a guy releasing your code for a 20 year old game.

Konami should really just stick to their overly-complicated 1 turn long card game and drop out of video games entirely at this point. Sell off the IP's people care about and fuck off to the Yu-Gi-Oh mines.

Did Nintendo chase after people when the N64 megaleak happen? If not, then Konami should be ashamed for being more litigious in this case than even Nintendo.

Especially the long fabled Silent Hill 2 source code. Maybe even all 4 games.
I thought all the Team Silent code was gone forever because they overwrote it like the BBC used to re-use tapes (why most of the early Doctor Who episodes are lost media).

That's why the awful HD collection had to use the gold masters with baked in subtitles that didn't match the new VA recordings.
