Our gorl reads Danielle Steele novels....

Aren't they 'raunchy'? You think she goes knuckle deep while reading those?
I’m just surprised My Dark Vanessa was in the pile. That’s all a new 2020 release that was quite popular this year — contains grooming, graphic sex scenes with underage student/teacher, all the negative psych stuff that comes from that. Lots of Lolita references. I thought that would be harmful to the amberlynn mentalz but maybe not

Generally, but it's more abuse porn than porn porn, if that makes sense?

Specific to the set she bought, the "Casteel Series", it's about a poor Appalachian family, starting with "Heaven" who, at various points, is nearly raped by her father, is physically abused by her father, has all her siblings "sold off" to various people before being sold herself, is coerced into sex with her "adoptive" father, is physically/mentally abused by her "adoptive" mother, is raped by her step-grandfather, mentally abused by her grandmother, has sex with her uncle before moving focus to her daughter "Annie" who gets paralyzed in a wreck that kills her mother (Heaven) and father, then is physically and mentally abused by a hired nurse, then by her great-grandfather (same step-grandfather) who then tries to rape her.
This is all sprinkled with a generous helping of plot twists a' la "the man she thought was her father isn't really" / "this person is dead BUT WAIT no he's not, he changed his name and is living in "hiding" / close sibling/friend/other relation to the protagonist dies a horrible death" sort of thing.

Also, only the half the series and the 2 before it were actually written "by" V.C. Andrews, the rest were written by Andrew Neiderman, who was (somewhat disturbingly) a former schoolteacher and the author of The Devil's Advocate starring Keanu Reeves and a bunch of other ppl I don't remember right now.
Hmm, so not only is it targeted toward straight women but it also includes lots of things that by Amber's own admission should be terrifying and triggering to her. Why would a lesbean who has suffered such abuses want to read about women getting raped by men? Perhaps Thumby isn't satisfying every urge.

<Casteel plot snip>
I get the feeling that if she had really read that series, that would have "shook" her as well as/more than the stuff she claimed "shook her to her core". Also she might have noticed that the final book in the series was published the year she was born (or maybe I'm the only person who looks at those things, idk).

It's really not porn. Think of TV shows where there's sex in it but it's just part of the plot, not something you'd actually masturbate to. It's more like that. Also, Amber has previously picked up books where the main character has junkie parents or a substance abuse problem. You'd think that would be something she wouldn't want to read, either, but she was pretty animated while going over the plot as told by the dust jacket.

Also lol the only urges Thumby satisfies is food delivery.

Goodness no. Unless they’ve changed since I read a couple years and years ago, they’re super tame where the raunchiest thing is the guy’s dick is referred to as his “member” and her vagina is a “mound.”

Amber is a prisoner in her behemoth body, her mobility is limited and she can’t do the things a woman her age normally can (not to sound ableist). And she knows this. She watches YA movies, reality shows, as well as YT and TikTok. She sees what she’s missing, she’s never going to be twee, as much as she tries. She can’t travel, can’t go to clubs or parties, she can’t do anything on her own. So she spends. She purchases and purchases because it’s the only thing that makes her feel happy and normal. Yes she loves eating but binge-eeeng comes with remorse. I don’t think she’s ever mentioned having buyer’s remorse.

Anyone that refers to their iPhone as “my iPhone” deserves a punch in the face.

As much as I hate to admit it, and because I am super autistic, all those books combined are about 10k pages and I am being generous because some of them are "poetry" books. She said it took her 6 weeks to read them, so if she read roughly 250 pages everyday of those six weeks she technically could have finished all of them by then end of November. Since she has zero responsibility that's really not that much of a feat. Now do I think she did, no I don't. I honestly would like to see her read something like Geek Love, or fuck it, even the Handmaids Tale. Something a little more dense then Daniel Steel (not saying there is anything wrong with reading those books by any means) but as a writer myself its good to expand your horizons beyond that of candy floss nonsense.

On a side note didn't she read IT? You would think that she would gush about that book since it does have a gay protagonist in it. Granted that out-of-left-field little detail was revealed at the very end (which is good because that meant it took up very little of his identity) but still, since her and the Becks are so LGBTQ positive you would think that it might get a mention . Or maybe not, since all the faggot Tumblerinas were crestfallen when it was revealed in the movie that Pennywise wasn't the super progay mascot they wanted him to be and was actually a terrifying kinda stupid monster that just really liked scaring the the piss out of people and eating them regardless of their gender or sexual affiliation.
She didn’t finish IT. She claimed to have read 100 pages (of an over 1,000 page book) and then it was never talked about again. No way she finished it.

I wonder what happened to that online book club she joined and had to go to 2 or 3 stores just to find the book in the middle of a pandemic? But hey, let’s listen to these two fat nasty slobs about how we need to be more careful because of Covid. I guarantee if she gets the virus, she’ll blame everyone else in the world for not following protocols properly even though she buys takeout everyday, touches everything in every damn store, and kisses pickle jars.

Jesus, the word haul is so stupid. She bought a foundation and an eyeliner and then with points, got a mini mascara and a tiny perfume sample.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is this the second video in a row where she hasn't gotten up? She just seems to be sitting - Becky has to get Fat Ass' gift, plus get her own, Fat Ass sat in the kitchen to show her groceries and I'm certain she was sitting when pointing at her books because of the direction of her hand. Are we back to BedboundLynn?

I don't believe she read through all of those books. I WAS happy to hear, however, that she is planning on donating them, granted she isn't lying about that too. Maybe someone in need and/or is blessed with a longer attention span than that of a goldfish will get some enjoyment out of them.
