Sometimes I think Jace's trolls know more about him than his own mother does.
That would actually make a lot of sense, especially with how out of touch Gail seems to be in general. She's worried about the dubsteps turning the kids gay with those tight leather jeans from the 90s or whatever her current delusional fears are for her YOUNG MAN.
I once watched a documentary that had a bulimic that hid an entire tub of vomit in her closet. She was smart enough to have a sealed lid to actually hide the smell of vomit so her mom wouldn't find out. Either way it still disgusting if I was Gail I would have been pissed off to.
Come on, you know you need to spell it out if you want Jace to understand you. In all fairness Jace is Ill and does need a healer but once for the mind.

This is fact-based. If Jace doesn't already know who you are or have a decent reason to trust you, he will immediately disregard literally anything you tell him to do no matter how minor or mundane. He's become very paranoid.

It is just the tipping point for her. She spends all day getting mad at Jace being an ass to her then she finally snaps and kicks him out while she cools off. Then she feels bad she kicked her son out that has zero ability to function in normal life and caves in allowing him back in. The cycle repeats infinitely or at least until one of them dies.
