It's expensive and you have to wear a gay eyepatch.
Whether you need to wear an eyepatch depends if it's strabismis ambylopia or just plain strabismis.
(Strabismus is having eyes that are not aligned, amblyopia is only have one eye functional at a time, strabimus can cause amblyopia if it's not treated at a young age).
Correcting the strabismus is possible at any age, but it will be a purely cosmetic procedure if amblyopia is present in an adult.
They gave up on my amblyopia at age 13, after 6 years of trying to fix it, and the strabismus slowly got worse back to where it was prior to the correction. As I said before, they told me I could have another op to correct it at 16, but the amblyopia wouldn't be fixed.
