"If I don't get the gender affirming care I need or everyone else doesn't respect my new identity, I will be miserable and kill myself"

Troons who get mutilated become even more depressed and suicidal than they already were as the years pass by.
Duh.
Thats why its called body dysmorphia. They will NEVER be happy. Post-op they realize they still hate their body, except now their sexual organs are mutilated beyond repair. They can't coom and fire up those dopamine receptors again, ever.

You could also call it arrival fallacy or hedonistic adaption.

I don't know how the hell the troons managed to carve out the single retarded exception and forced doctors to capitulate to the "give me X or I kill myself" threat. Under what other circumstances would this fly? Crackheads can't waltz in like "hey doc, better prescribe me a few ounces of medicinal cocaine, otherwise I'll kill myself"; ugly (but not literally deformed) people or people with BDD can't come in every couple months saying "I'mma need another revision on these cosmetic procedures, if you don't I'll kill myself"; anorexics/wannarexics can't say "if you don't either prescribe me Ozempic or perform a sleeve gastrectomy on me, I'm killing myself"; lazy goldbricking pieces of shit can't go "yeah I know nothing is actually wrong with me but you had better fraudulently fill out my application for disability gibs, otherwise I'll kill myself" etc... but for troons it's not only acceptable, but (and this is my biggest issue) it's usually considered grounds to get it paid for by their fucking health insurance.

I realize money is likely involved but troonery is really just a drop in the bucket, shit like diabeetus is far more lucrative. My only guess is that some greedy fucks seized upon "gender identity disorder" as the one case where accepted standard of care for a mental illness is to chase the dragon with deleterious medical procedures in a never-ending quest for the impossible and remain on medications for life that are guaranteed to do nothing but cause issues. It's not about troonery really, it's about getting a foot in the door and establishing a precedent to start trying Unit 731 shit on every poor son of a bitch with a DSM label and convince insurance to pay for it.

A depression treatment can be deemed effective through self-reporting from the patients, other than their behavior, but that's pretty much it. And the focus is obviously on self-reporting, since the specialists don't really get the chance to observe their patients.
The parallel is obvious here. Troon "science" revolves 100% around self-reporting. You will not find a single scientific hypothesis, observation, prediction or anything that doesn't completely, exclusively rely on the concept of "self-reported satisfaction = treatment; forget everything else".

It's easy to see how this subjectivity problem is easy to abuse by troon "science", no matter how valid depression or depression treatments may be. Not that there haven't been issues with corruptions in depression treatment and similar areas.

Do you have the link ? I could use that study

Any condition that requires "life-saving surgery" is by definition an illness.

Get well soon.

That's why self-acceptance should be first on the list to work on if transitioning is your goal.

You don't really know if surgery will net you the outcome that you're dreaming of. So, let's assume that we develop a hybrid response to people claiming to be transgender: the support team of doctors will agree, but only when there's a mental health document signed certifying that this person has a stable state of mind that says they can accept the results of surgery, whatever they may be.

Even that much is preposterous, but it still asserts the idea that somewhere along the way, you have to accept things and the surgery will need to come to an end, whether or not the results are perfect.

Because if you have to accept the results of an imperfect surgery...well, maybe you have to accept the results of an imperfect body to start with, huh?
