Here's what they're suing the shooters parents and grandparents for:

I'm reading the claims being made against the parents and grandparents...

Shouldn't the State of Texas be included? Or was everyone homeschooled? If private schooled let's include them as defendants. Also, I'd like teachers names no matter what.

Also, isn't it the State of Texas' "duty" (I figure we can ignore Supreme Court precedent anyway) to have prevented the violation of their laws? And the United States for that matter due to the Supremacy Clause and 14th Amendment and whatever else mumbo jumbo sounds good?

I mean, if we're going to get nuts, let's get nuts.

So their lawsuit is based sloley on the premise that parents are responsible for their own kids criminal actions?

Not entirely, but they do use that argument. Which is stupid because Crusius was not a child. If that particular part of their argument is sustained every parent is responsible for every criminal in jail right now, no matter their age. From a purely philosophical standpoint this may be true and has some merit too it. From a legal standpoint though if such a cause is upheld by any court I hope the courts are prepared for the literal hundreds of thousands of lawsuits that will be filed against every mother and father whose kid ends up in jail at any point in their natural lives.

I hope Cloudflare gets fucked over deplatforming 8chan. I mean, they took responsibility for what gets posted on sites that use their service...

They didn't make that argument though. They are claiming Cloudflare was in a civil conspiracy with 8chan to run a cult that brainwashes people into spree shooters. Not just tangentially being related, but deliberately masterminding the radicalization of individuals and supporting their actions materially by aiding them in the obtaining of weapons.

Very clever of them to take over carrying 10% of all Internet traffic and make millions and millions of dollars at that completely fake business, just to cover for their evil plot to radicalize one drooling dumbass with a shitty money-losing imageboard. Bravo. Best evil conspiracy ever.

Imagine the payday that will be for anyone that could remotely put Facebook in a similar circumstance! "My parent's killer had a Facebook account! Facebook killed my parents!"

Figured I'd put these Twitter grabs in this thread. They are Defendant Fredrick's commentary on the lawsuit, after all.

So Fredrick had a look at the filing. He also thinks that the filing was rather incompetent.

So Fredrick makes a media statement regarding the lawsuit. In the statement, he reiterates his burning hatred for Jim Watkins by promising to go out of his way to not raise any arguments that would absolve Jim. He also reiterates that his month-long Twitter crusade against 8chan/8kun will continue unabated.
(Oh, for those requiring context: Fredrick has been on a month-long Twitter crusade against 8chan/8kun that will continue unabated. It's been really fun to watch.)

Perhaps taking inspiration from the Weeb Wars/Vic Mignogna case, someone suggests Fredrick set up a legal fund. Hotwheels here is too proud to take other people's money for his legal defense. However, in alignment with his recent penchant for LARPing as a lawyer, he's not too proud to rip off Nick Rekieta's gig.

Fredrick also phoned James Scherr, who apparently didn't know Fredrick has nothing to do with Crusius or El Paso(?). (EDIT: Ninja'd by @BEST_MAN_202 in the other thread.)

Hold up lol... is he claiming "embrace the infamy" a motto that existed for years and I always assumed was Gamergate related was Jim preemptively urging on shooters? Lol k.

Is their lawyer’s name Jake Alley?

This has to be the most exceptional lawsuit I've ever seen. 'The parents were negligent therefore culpable', 'John Doe 1 till infinity', 'these real people are alteregos of eachother', etc. Are they taking the fucking piss? Where do they think they are, the Middle Ages? Are they going to challenge Hotwheels to trial by combat next?
Not to mention the idea that people won't commit mass-murder if it means their relatives get sued :story::story:

No, you don't get it! Haven't you heard Fred talking about the "shell companies" and the "dark money!" Yeah, apparently vchan is funded by "dark money" several months back some idiot at the Daily Beast tried to claim that 8chan was funded by an audiobook site Jim was involved in and that I think NT Tech owned and had on their servers. I can't remember the amount or where I heard it but yeah, apparently 8chan is expensive to run and the ads they served didn't hardly offset the cost and that is why they had Hotwheels (AKA Matthew Prince of Cloudflare) set up the CDN biz. Come on, admit it, have you ever seen Cloudflare's CEO and 8chan's founder in the same room? Case closed...
