I joined this subforum because someone told me about Phil in real life. actually about iruvayel or.. whether his name was when he was in Portland.
a tattoo artist I know got ripped off by him: they did the tattoo, (a bolt? bike chain? a boring black silhouette tattoo I'm not certain what). when they finished, dude didn't have cash. the artist didn't take credit cards at that time, so Phil claimed he was going to an ATM, and never returned to pay. he left behind an old ID as 'collateral' but never came back. the artist (a good friend, but not the smartest) realized that the ID was a PA one and expired. and not the same name as on the release form.
this was posted as a warning in a private group for professional tattoo artists; there's a red flag for this guy in many of the better shops due to this (he'll get politely turned down and given other reasons like busy schedule or inability to do the tattoo etc), but it's because his ID, description and new (at that time) name were posted in that group.
I passed along the new name to that original artist so they could keep it updated on their blacklist. As soon as I realized this forum was here I felt I had to kick in my little bit of information. The artist worked at a shop that has two locations, at that time he was commuting to both. It's a sort of feminist/lefty tattoo place, the artists are good there so it's sad to know one was ripped off.
at that time the tattooer had a warrant on him and so, didn't want to call the police for theft of services. posting to the private warning group was his best recourse.
