But in the eviction proceedings, he claimed the Bishop would've been willing to cover a few weeks rent but the apartment complex refused to accept any payment less than the full balance at once. I tried to reconcile the two accounts by theorizing they were willing to cover up to a few weeks rent and the $8000 balance needing to be paid in full is what changed their tune.

I agree on that. Any relationship whatsoever with an absolute scumbag like Russhole is an inherent liability. That said, most landlords are entirely willing to be reasonable, although they'll make it clear that acceptance of a partial payment is not acceptance of that payment erasing the debt entirely, and will put it in writing.

I don't know and it doesn't even really matter. If you follow the District of Utah at all, many cases come out of there that in some way, shape, or form heavily favor LDS interests. Remember, there's a sort of Senatorial privilege where a Senator from a state can usually outright reject a candidate for the federal bench. It's not a right ensconced in law but is essentially a nearly uniform practice. So anyone appointed to the federal bench in the District of Utah is probably going to be favorable to the LDS.

I personally enjoy turbo autistic discussions, but they’re not what I’m generally interested in when reading a legal thread.

I also like discussions only tangentially related to the main topic (though you cannot actually discuss Russ or his philosophy without dealing with the underlying fact that Mormonism actually has something to do with it). All in all, a solid response from Hardin. I would have like to seem him challenge Greer's assertion that it was Null who said Greer's works should be posted so Greer won't get paid. I would not be surprised if the two bowtied faggots in this case took a failure to refute that as an admission that Null really did deliberately instruct users to knowingly violate fair use, when that couldn't be further from the truth.

The specific landlord I'm thinking of not only cut immense slack on rent at a time I was in dire straits, but also was a dude who wrote cookbooks and would also bring over huge batches of his latest recipes. He would pretend it was asking for "opinions" but we both knew it was an incredible act of charity and he was just pretending to spare my dignity.
