Not alone, in that once you play VC and SA, OG GTA3 seems primitive in comparison
It's not even that VC is newer, SA is newer but I still prefer VC since it's tighter and more fun to play. SA is too big for it's own good and it feels like a mish mash of experimental mechanics more than anything. Los Santos section should have been way longer since that was the most enjoyable part.

Good to see I have all the discs so I can play them in their original state anytime I want to. Not that you will be able to have one with GTA 6, you will always be at the mercy of R* and have your game changed or ruined at any time. Then again, the nigger cattle who is going to buy this game doesn't care, they do not care about their own rights and will eat whatever is in their trough and like it. Some people in this thread, even, imagine that!

Speaking of which, imagine being stuck with those awful mobile ports or even worse, the "definitive edition" of these games and nothing else. God, that's depressing.
I still have all the originals for my PS2.
I just don't wanna dig it out to play maybe only an hour. I see the GTA IV is on sale for 5.99 on Steam with the the episodes. But I don't know that my computer can run it.

And I'm thinking that by the time Rockstar decides to fuck with GTA VI it'll be far enough into the future where I've already played and therefore will no longer give a shit. It's like stealing something I forgot I even owned. It's still a retarded business decision however.

I'd get it incase you upgrade or build a new PC in the future if you do want to play it on this platform one day because 1.) it won't get much cheaper, if cheaper at all and 2.) R* has proven they can't be trusted to keep their games on Steam. They removed 2 of the greatest games of all time in VC and SA just to force people into getting the offensively inferior jeetmasters. Imagine maccy d's getting rid of their vanilla milkshake and replacing it with a melted stick of butter in a cup with room temp vanilla extract on it.

Still playing through San Andreas on PC, and am having fun.

However, I am really dreading that Flight School mission. I heard the flying controls on PC are abysmal, and people have spent hours trying to pass the mission. It was made for controllers primarily, and I don't have one that is compatible, so I am not looking forward to it.

Any tips?
Get a compatible controller. Duh.

i decided to check preddit for the retardation and noticed posts mentioning how the bugs are lately, like the dialogue sections being broken didn't give off the idea the game has been critically raped to sell jew cards? didn't the yung ancestor text about his vehicle on any approach on casino heist not tip you off?

although it is reddit so anyone that have noticed has probably been permabanned, not to mention the few complaints about civilian cards turning on purpose at you to get you to crash, like my nigger that mine canary is a fucking skeleton already due to import/exports being 10 years old at this point, even that whatever57010 dude did videos on this...
the jannies did let a post about how the game has been redesigned to waste as much as your time possible alive though, this is mostly game design to force you to hire people and to get griefed, still retarded? yup.
although i can't find a post where it mentions how the forced dialogue repetions are a pain in the ass, especially with the darnell/bail bond missions where you need to listen to the bitches to finish their yapping before you can play, this is obviously some jew-hired behaviour psychologist shit and i can hope one day these people get crucified for their greed.

jeettube recommended me GTA-RP videos because i looked at whatever's video however the viewcount is what drew me in

1.2 MILLION? the worst part is that i can't tell if it's viewbotting or not, RP players are mostly third worlders and third worlds have large populations...

I haven't played GTA IV in like 10 years, so I had no idea they auto upgraded it to the complete edition in steam. I've had a mighty need to revisit it lately and was very excited to start it up just now. Rockstar then downloads their gay DRM and tells me to sign in on an email I don't own, since 4 years ago or so I told my friend he could play it on my steam account. There is no option to say "hey this isn't my email let me do something about it", so I'm just straight up fucked if my friend has switched to yet another email which he does constantly. Even if I get this squared away I feel raped and angry that I cannot just open up my fucking game.

SA was always my favorite. It added a degree of kookiness to the base gameplay loop. Get fat eating KFC or pumped at the gym. Go on weird conspiracy theory missions for Willie Nelson I remember I went through most of the game looking completely retarded with a green bandana on my head and another one over my face. It had some good minigames and excellent humor. VC had better vibes because the 80s was awesome.

Rockstar won't fuck up the main gameplay loop here. The problem will be the other shit. This will certainly make money, lots of it. But will we get shitty pseudo-millennial humor like Mixtape and all of the other oddly specific styles of story telling that is also just not good? Or troon characters and nonsense like that?

I only recently learned of the whole Shark card thing to buy GTA money with real cash. Just so you can buy apartments in GTA V online. God damn I hate the future.

Somehow I completely forgot that FiveM is a top 8 game on steam. As in the 8th most fucking played game on Steam is an unofficial RP mod, that somehow managed to appeal largely to ghetto youth, ie. black men and bratty latinas. A game that managed to specifically reach a new target audience. The exact kind of people who think this looks good:

No way Rockstar isn't implementing an RP mode. It'd be like ignoring the most groundbreaking new genre in mainstream gaming. They could literally sell single ingame outfits at $3. RP has all the appeal of the women streaming with their tits out on Twitch: A chance to garner a following of men capable of buying them shit.

this makes it obvious; they've implemented Lucia simply to draw in zoomer women. I don't know why they would want that demographic, i guess it's cuz Rockstar is full of women now, but you can tell that's who Lucia is meant to appeal to.

The worst part is, you just know GTA VI is gonna be used to normalize every new game being $100...
You're already there. RDR2 cost $60 in 2018. Today it would cost $80.00. The Special Edition went for $80. That's $106.77 today.

Not including tax.

EDIT: I don't know what you disagree with. I put the 2018 price in an inflation calculator.

bit of a funny but when doing casino prep the cops decided to attack the drill guys.

they killed the gunners if you look at the chopper.

SA had way too much game mechanics that did nothing for the main gameplay loop and were way underdeveloped. VC had less going in that department but the experience felt much smoother and tighter, where as you can fuck around for hours in SA for absolutely no reason, only to get fat or run slightly faster or whatever. And then half that shit stops mattering since you get run out of Los Santos and your GF, the gang war mechanic, all of that becomes useless as you are now all of a sudden forced into an empty open world with nothing in it. No thanks, I always quit around that part and only made it to San Fierro chapter a few times, where as I can pick up VC at anytime and play for hours on end.

You know, after RDR2, I legit cant imagine that the writers will be able to resist making their two leads as much of virtual signaling stand in for the writers as much as Arthur.

Previous games at least had a certain sense of self awareness that our leads were awful people, some trying not be but failing at it, but still awful people. Rockstar worked better when they embraced it and thus didnt bother to use them as mouthpieces for the writers' personal beliefs, I mean, pff, why would they have their words come out out of disturbed criminals?

But I think in recent years there was certain a level of "unironic admiration" and romantization for the criminal, but not just any criminal, the "We have standards" criminal.

What are those? Well, its the "Our villain protagonists are evil but not THAT evil, audiences, dont worry, their politics will not offend you in the slightest and will, in fact, match current social sensibilities, independently if it makes sense or not" syndrome. You know the whole, "villain is evil but draws the line at rape" or something like that? People enjoy that level of complexity and I will be fair, I am one of those...however I am smart enough to recognize that these are just characters at the end of the day and, really, if anyone of them were real, they would be as evil as evil could be, because saying that "you dont hate the gays" while gunning down entire blocks worth of people doesnt exactly make you a good person.

There are many examples in fiction I can give, for example, Assassin's Creed Valhalla having the most PC depiction of Vikings, who, lets be honest, were a bunch of raiding brutes who murdered, plundered, raped and killed whoever was in their way but in the game they are "honor bound" and very much accepting of minorities and le gays... but lets keep this focused on Rockstar and how RDR2 really enjoyed making what is pretty much a gang of rapist thieving criminals a bunch of diverse misfits who are just "fighting back" against a world thats even worse than themselves, thus making them not so bad in comparison or something. I honestly applaud the game for being a masterpiece in the act of slow boiling of the frogs because it took a while for the negative concensus for this game to start to appear, or at least become mainstream enough of a talking point. Dont get me wrong, the game is still constantly jerked off as the greatest thing since sliced bread and it will likely remain that way for a while but only somewhat recently we are finally proper conversations started about how the whole "noble criminal" thing is kind of absolute hypocritical bullshit the moment you begin to think about it for more than two minutes. But like it or not, the game was a hit and Rockstar may have become rather emboldened by it, no doubt feeling like we will swallow whatever they throw, which, yeah, I hate to admit it but they arent exactly off, given the pre-sales numbers of GTA 6.

But all of this to say is the absolute concern and certainty that our two leads will absolutely follow a similar formula, perhaps not to a T, given it is GTA and not RDR, but they will admit it enough so they will follow similar beats. Basically reaffirm our protagonists may be criminal heisters who no doubt have murdered their fair share of innocent men, women and likely even children, but they will be portrayed as having morals and standards that all conveniently fit modern sensibilities so they arent "so evil" when it comes to modern social issues. If RDR2 couldnt resist constantly clowning on any group that its writers didnt like, what makes you think they wont do the same with a far more satirical series like GTA? All under the guise, of course, of "satire" and "humor" among other things.

Its scary to think that, ultimately, the wild west time period forced them to be limited somewhat to what they could tell and satirize but now that they are back in the present? All bets are off.

Doesnt matter how evil characters, protagonist or villain, nowadays are, they will never be allowed to be "politically incorrect" because that might make someone "uncomfortable" (that someone being from Blackrock and/or Vanguard, which means no sweet checks from them but we are not suppose to mention that part out load) and Rockstar just will never demonstrate the same level of "not giving a shit" they once did.

This Rockstar would be satirized and mocked constantly by Old School Rockstar, unironically having a mission where you blow up an expy of their gaming studio just for shits and giggles.

1783573641092.png
all three of these missions have duggan casino mission tier terminators designed to waste your time, i hope there is a special place in hell for everyone involved in the creation of this shit.
these people do not belong in gaming and i will release fireworks the day they get the boot, then i'll buy some scented candles because they'll be replaced by jeets or SEAmonkeys.

For me at least, RDR2 I still found to be at least well written enough for me to overlook all the flaws in the character presentation. However, I wonder how much of that was due to Dan Houser still being the head of the writing team, and probably reigning in at least some of the “modern sensibilities” the others tried to incorporate.

Now that he’s since departed Rockstar, I have to wonder GTA VI will fare in that department.
