People can sperg too much about games to be sure, but this one has the potential to set a fucking awful precedent. I wouldn’t really care at this point in the series if GTAVI is bad, what I would care about is an extremely high-profile game that costs $80-$100 to start, and is nickled-and-dimed out to an even further degree through DLC/microtransactions being successful, especially if said game is mediocre. That kind of shit rolls downhill and hits everything in the medium and effects every customer, not just the slop-consuming retards who buy anything with the right name on it.

Remind me, was this for the next gen edition? I don't remember this being the case for the original releases for 7th gen consoles, then again I didn't really bother with this game at launch since I was playing other games(and had no reason to stop playing Vice City/San Andreas). Honestly, I am not surprised that GTA 6 has all these ridiculous pre order bonuses, R* knows their audience and they are not very bright so they know they will get away with it.
It has been in the oven for too long. The writing worries me. I assume it went through rewrites. A period piece on 90's south america would have been much cleaner. By the time it comes out, there's pretty much no way it's not a product of the times it finished writing and recording in, meaning, it's probably gonna be woke and nigger-faggotlicious. GTA V already went over pretty poorly with most GTA players, and the writing still had fangs, you just had to go deep diving for them in the game's internet.
GTA V had pieces pretty much calling pay to win whales fucking faggots in in-game blogs. Then Online just started catering to them and introduced that badonkadonk guy. Somehow worse and cringier than fucking Nu Saints Row.
The gameplay's probably gonna be the same twitch shooter it always was, which should be fine. Optimization and bloat are indeed gonna be a huge issue, and it couldn't come at a worse time.
I'm guessing it's gonna be a success, but even if it likely is, it'll be pyrrhic. This is gonna be a lot of people's last currently released game before going to emulation/retro forever. It's the game that's gonna price a fuckton of people out of the hobby. I doubt it'll even run properly on base PS5s, and you'll certainly need a beefy-ish PC to run it well.
The prices keep going up. Gaming is no longer a budget friendly hobby. No used games market, no used PCs that are worth much, hardware requirements keep going up while breakthroughs just don't happen as often technologically any more, we are VERY close to maxing out on how good graphics can look. It's been almost ten years since Hyperrealism in Unreal Engine became the norm, killing diverse art styles.
I am hoping it crashes and burns. Ideally, the industry cuts back and scales down a little bit instead of living in this perpetual state of hypothetical gold rush they've maintained ever since the pandemic. If it's another runaway success, I'm scared that all the other companies are gonna want "Their own GTA VI" to print money with much like Fortnite caused an avalanche of copycats. Or just optimistically price their titles at 100 bucks regardless of quality.

I feel like there were some kind of bonuses for the PS4/Xbone versions of the game, but they might have been character transfer bonuses or something.
I feel like there was something you had to do that have access to the Sea Plane and the Duke O'Death because those were the big things I wanted when I got the PS4 version but I might just be misremembering.

Well, again, Nintendo started it from $70 to $80 with their Switch 2 releases. MS tried with The Outer Worlds 2 but quickly backtracked. Everybody is just waiting and reacting to GTA VI's critical and commercial reception.

I have to say, it's definitely a feeling to be within a cultural event like GTA VI. Everything could go wrong for GTA VI, yet they are arrogant and proud enough to continue like nothing's happening. This must be how the Hindenburg felt, expect we're still waiting.
