Just don't advance into the fucking lines. Every offside was right and the only decision that was questionable (it isn't) was the penalty.

The offsides for both sides were correct and people have to accept and players must known how to infiltrate at the right moment.
 
If theyre going to be so ticky tacky about offsides in this manner, it needs to reset even if it hits a defender and they dont control it.
 
I'd introduce a new rule which is anyone involved in VAR in any form has to do a 6 month tour of duty with a random Mexican cartel.

VAR absolutely needs to be modified because this is the epitome of nitpicking. They call offsides over fucking pinky toes and now they're pulling this shit. At least make offsides be half a body or some shit.

Seriously, fuck VAR.

Dont be retarded, one is looking in the opposite direction to the attacker, it is literally impossible to turn your whole body in and still defend before the attacking player. The attacking side will always be at advantage, making offsides literally meaningless.

Offside rulings aren't about allowing more players to score, is to have a fair set of rules and letting players combat in the field and being fair to both sides

I think it comes down to a consistency and transparency problem. We have super technical goal checking but we can’t have a precise clock so everyone knows exactly when stoppage ends? We have precise red card rules but yellow cards are arbitrarily enforced? That lack of consistency is adding fuel to the fire and doesn’t make sense.

It's about not letting players nanny the net. It's not about saving teams from being BTFO in the open field. Cope harder.

The touch system that all the WC balls have since 2022 is another example of technology solving problems that would literally destroy the isonomy of the tournament. That ball was impossible to see if there was a touch by croatian player, even with VAR it was literally impossible to get the right decision and the game would still be going on.

You fucks complains about VAR precisely because you don't know the unfair state that football had until its implementation. The semiautomatic lines are a fucking blessing for those who lived between one ref being able to see or not.

And in this very same cup they also can check if the last touch was a corner or not. The more decisions let to the machinery and video the better. Human refereeing will always be faulty no matter what and we have 100 years of football stories to prove that, even at the WC level.

No because the yellow and card system were introduced to control the players, not just punish them for shits and giggles. For example a rough tackle can mean yellow, but if you rotate the players doing this behaviour on the same player in your rigid system, it would be permissible. Just hunt your opponent star player by fucking him up though the game. The direct reds are punishments for unacceptable behaviour and yellows are warnings to make the player more conscious about his decision making.

Making this rigid would introduce another layer of combativeness that players would CHOOSE rather than try to avoid it (we already see that at the last man on the line and players tackling them to stop the counterattack, they know they will be expelled but choose it anyway)
 

FIFA has "sensors" inside the ball that apparently detect a touch off of Matanovic, even though the ball doesn't change in direction or rotation. I bet the touch from the chip is actually just the the Portuguese defender getting his head on the cross, which they can then broadcast as if it was Matanovic's touch.

I haven't really reviewed the other 3 disallowed goals in detail. But to have 4 disallowed goals in a game, one of which is incredibly suspect, in order to get Penaldo into the round of 16... it's just a tad suspicious.

Are you new on this? Last year mbappe got offsided 4 times in the same match.

And the other team was barely making offside traps
