It's like a highest highs and lowest lows deal. Twins and Drake ended up being solid post-show, and Burt really came into his own and has become way funnier for it. The flip side is everything in the Vimp gutter and the Jimmy spin-off, which really is as grim as its been. I can feel for Jet despairing there knowing his show enabled those cesspools.

Jet has millions of dollars of revenue and patrons with industry experience backing him and he is barely batting above .500 when it comes to season success. the various spinoffs are operating on budgets of maybe a thousand or two for equipment, fishtank had something nearing 300k put up for S1. ADL and Jimmytank had more going on for it on a day to day basis than Season 1 and they're operating on maybe like 1% of the budget at best.

As someone who no-lifed all of them, I'd consider everything but 4, the end of 2, and Bitchtank a success in terms of how entertained I was tbh - it's well above .500 for me. Jimmytank had funny moments but did ultimately come down to the spilling over of ween drama which is what Jet seems to despise the most about the whole sphere. ADL was them sitting on a couch looping a 'who can make fun of Jet da best gwise???' challenge until Jon got bored of that and started snorting coke on hotmic. The only funny part of it was seeing Van the Milady reject sperg about his spiritual war against MDE and everything completely unravel for Jon.
Not sure how the money plays here, Jet definitely made back what they put in two-three times fold for every season except 4. Sure the spinoffs spent nothing, but they're all in the red except Spictank (which is based) and the viewership really suggests they aren't pulling in anyone except utterly parasocial fans trying to get their 15 minutes of fame or the scorched earth /bant/ guys who still think they'll take down the Nepstein. Even if we're evaluating ween-centric drama, the 30 minutes of Jet utterly raping Abi's boyfriend/pimp and just putting everything on the table in Miami was funnier than these bizarre 'Fuck Jet' spinoffs people still try to throw.
He’s being Emo because he literally can’t do anything without being harassed by half the fans. Jet thinks s5 was success and profit wise it definitely was. This was their make or break season, if it got cut early it would have been the final nail in the coffin for the show, that’s why they decided to just make it 30 days and avoided taking huge risks. I think content wise it was decent and outside of drama going on post tank production took a dub, they just have to capitalize on it and not look like retards anytime they get valid criticism, they also have to stop making false promises about off season content. Jet has the ability to make good shit, we’ve seen that with Famous House and Blood Games.
Even with S4, Jet doesn't get enough credit for the original plan, even if it totally fell apart because too much gas. I'm 90% sure it was supposed to be a week or two in each of the original houses, then by week 5 when everyone's burnt out, transition into BG2. Remember all the preseason BG2 talk before the random S1 throwback trailer, and things suddenly got real quiet? Xavier coming in and teasing all sorts of machinations? The color stripes independent from stox for ??? The big speech about "doing anything to save the show" and transitioning into the fallout larp? You can't convince me that wasn't the original plan, and for either mystique, or legal reasons they will never confirm this on camera. They were planning their HL3, but only got out Half Life Source 2, and even now take mad shit for it

That was never the plan, BG2 set wasn't due to be completed until mid or late august which was long after S4 was scheduled to end. Jet himself said multiple times that BG2 was meant to be a month or so after S4 so I don't know where this notion that S4 was meant to become BG2 comes from.

also it was said over and over bg doesnt make as much money/drive as much interest as a normal season, seemed very on-brand to try to trick regular season only watchers into getting invested midway through. Plus over and over they kept talking about a big twist, i really hoped it wasnt "were switching houses to avoid being runout lol". fair enough if he explicitly confirmed it
