Bro told on himselft to be the biggest "FF" tourist. Like, what you mean that you "just" recently played Crisis Core and realized that FF7R is a continuation of CC? Like what you mean? The original Crisis Core did have a shitty story (Genesis) but when it comes to the characterization of Zack, his relationship with Angeal and the whole thing with Sephirot and Hojo's experiment shit gets real good.

Part 3 isn't out. I could find myself summing up my problems with the story, like not just technical mistakes but the core philosophy, as "FF7 for people whose first game was Crisis Core" but I'm willing to wait.

And a lot of fans do approach it like it exists to fold Crisis Core and its many soft-retcons into the original FF7 story. But I know that's also an outside influence on my opinion.
