Whenever i want to let go of poverty i just shove all the gold in my pants and sneak around Elijah before going out the way he came in.
Agreed, I did play it again shortly after its recent update and it was mostly fine, grenades where kinda OP but the game also kept crashing a lot more than I remember it doing so I decided to go back to playing other games.
Never had a problem with crashing and i don't really remember touching grenades after the first planet. I went full heavy weapons and melee because i like making my characters strong meatheads who can still silver tongue their way out of and into problems
also for some reason i cant stop myself from killing dean. fucker had it comming. this is for my boy sinclaire
Dean is a great character because it really is up to you if you think having to live in the madre for over 200 years was enough punishment for his pre war actions or if he still deserves to die

The more I watch the various analysis from Patrician/Private Sessions, the more I remember just how fucking broken Fallout 3/4/Skyrim are. And how poorly they are designed, funny how almost none of the criticism of these games can be applied to New Vegas since it was developed by a COMPETENT team that actually developed a few decent RPGs in their time. B*thesda fanboys are subhuman cattle, but what else is new? Laughed at the segment where even they mocked the porn addicted nu-Fallout/B*thesda fanbase, relevant to this thread in particular. Looking back, maybe Outer Worlds not sexualizing any NPCs was a blessing in disguise when you see what happens with the exact opposite side of the spectrum.
Fucker also didn't account for me putting all the gold into one pile and carrying it all the way out of the casino.
Why do people do this? With the 5-6 bars you can normally carry out you can buy literally anything you want in the game, hell you can even turn all that gold into pre war money in the various hologram shops and that currency will be weightless. I mean, yeah, I guess it's a flex the first couple of times you do this, but then you realize it's a waste of time and feels more like cheating. The amount of money you get from the legit way of doing this is more than enough. Not that making money in the vanilla game was difficult anyways.

Didn't you say you spent over 1000 hours on Fallout 4 and enjoyed it?

I did, but not as a Fallout game. It is a mediocre FPS and half of that time I spend testing out mods(both my own and those others made), but it still has it's merits. The fact that I can have a nuanced opinion on a game I actually played for so long shows I know what I am talking about and can appreciate the opinion of others whom I also know played the game, vs some retarded porn addicts that likely never saw a triple digit of playtime in any of their playthrus and have godawful takes on regular bases. This is why I love watching those analysis videos, just when I thought I reached the bottom of the barrel of B*thesda's incompetence as RPG designers, coders and writers, there is some nitpick or problem I have somehow overlooked and I enter the rabbit hole once again. This is why I absolutely love to hate Starfield, it is the perfect representation of every single b*thesda game flaw that accumulated over the last 20 years all in one package, and worse than ever before, I am genuinely giddy for how awful TES6 is going to be.

Edit as to not double post: the more comparison footage I look at of Gamebryo Fallout/Skyrim/Starfield, the more I appreciate Outer Worlds for how smooth it's combat is, that even goes for something mediocre like Avowed that also has pretty decent combat. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it works and engages user moment to moment, meanwhile at it's best, Fallout 4/Starfield are a really shitty, janky FPS and even something like New Vegas is only remotely fun because it's balanced to hell and back thanks to Sawyer, otherwise it would be another stiff piece of shit like Fallout 3/Oblivion were. Thank god Outer Worlds 2 doubled down on that and made the combat even more hectic while still keeping RPG elements(more so than Starfield/Fallout 4 have, at any rate).

They got added in the recent patch that came out at the end of May, that said based ass build. Teddy would approve.

Hating Fallout 4 but being a big Outer Worlds fan is a weird ass take.

I definitely don't think Fallout 4 is good but I didn't spend the entirety of that game desperately wishing the characters would shut the fuck up and kill themselves because they were so annoying and gay.

Anyway, I'm thinking of doing a weapon restricted run in New Vegas where I can use only that weapon for all encounters. Does anybody have a recommendation for an interesting one?

That's a tough one. My favorite is the riot shotgun, but it won't show up at the Gun Runners until level 16, though some of the Omertas do carry them so if you max out Sneak and have a Stealth Boy, you might be able to pickpocket one.

That Gun is pretty powerful, especially with a crit build, but I feel it falls off after the midgame (I'm not big on crafting, so I've never taken Hand Loader and made some of the more outre varieties of ammo, which might keep it viable for longer, and people have taken down Lanius with a silenced .22 and a lot of ammo and patience so there's no way you couldn't do it with That Gun and standard ammo). As with most unique weapons, durability is awful, but if you work at leveling Repair up to 90, you can take the Jury Rigging perk at level 14 and then be able to repair it with any other handgun. If you get your Barter skill up to 50, you could also rush to the Strip, start the Talent Pool quest, give a job offer to the Lonesome Drifter, and convince him to give you the Mysterious Magnum in return.

If you prefer melee, you can always get Veronica, use her to get into the Brotherhood's bunker, and steal Paladin Hardin's super sledge off the shelf in his bedroom when he's not looking, since that's definitely an endgame weapon. You could also grab the shovel from Goodsprings Source, then use the parkour trick to get up to Chance's Grave without encountering any cazadores, and dig up Chance's Knife. (For that matter, you could go to Nipton, go up the faint trail to the Legion Safehouse, and follow the ridge to Wolfhorn Ranch to avoid the Viper ambush on the road below, then grab Chopper, though it's definitely not as good as Chance's Knife.)

Challenge runners have done some interesting single-weapon runs. Nerbit recently did a run where he only used the Compliance Regulator, despite its low damage. Jabo did a run where he had only 20 minutes to collect every non-quest item to be used and, on the basis of his Twitch chat's suggestions, used the MF Hyperbreeder Alpha, since ammo was going to be scarce and a recharger pistol is an obvious counter to that (melee weapons being out since healing items were also going to be scarce). Mitten Squad once used console commands to give himself Miss Fortune's showgirl outfit and the Bad Luck Bringer, and completed the game using those as his only armor and weapon.

Actually, you can easily get one from Lonesome Road at the start if you have high enough lockpicking, I think there is a few more in DLC areas and maybe even in the base game, don't usually use this weapon.

That Gun is indeed rather mediocre towards the latter half of the game, but what keeps it unique is the fact that it is a revolver with the ability to use some rather interesting ammo types, such as Armor Piercing, Surplus and Match. You generally want to grab it early and replace it later on, unless you really like using it(again, usually due to it's unique ammo types for one handed/handgun/cowboy builds).

Oh Baby! in Jacobstown is even better and arguably even easier to get since you get a better/beefier companion to go along with you into the dungeon. The biggest problem is making it to Jacobstown itself, but it's not an issue for those who already know how to get to Vegas from Goodsprings anyways, it's just a little further NorthWest and if you know where to go, you will avoid all the tough enemies along the way like Cazadores. The Wind Brahmin Farm is on the way as well for a free Stealth Boy as well, great early advantage.
You could also grab the shovel from Goodsprings Source, then use the parkour trick to get up to Chance's Grave without encountering any cazadores, and dig up Chance's Knife
Chance's Knife is great, but Bowie Knife from Lonesome Road is just as good and very easy to get(you can grab it at Level 1/2 since you get one before any serious fighting starts, at worst you have to fight one Security Bot to get to it and you can disable it with a terminal). Blood Nap is gotten by getting halfway thru the DLC and it's easily the best one handed melee weapon in the entire game, you even get a free +10 Sneak just for equipping it.

Compliance Regulator is busted, but it is more of a tool than a weapon. If you want a good energy weapon, go into Old World Blues early and get Sonic Emitter - Tarantula from Higgs Village. Criticals ALWAYS kill the enemy and stealth attacks are always criticals, you can theoretically kill the hardest enemies in the game like Legendary creatures, Rawr, Ulysses or Giant Robo Scorpion in one hit with this baby. Only downside is it's mediocre damage without the one-hit KO, slow firing speed and low range, but that makes it more balanced in my book. Recharger weapons are a neat concept but not really executed well, yeah you can theoretically fire them forever but is energy ammo ever a concern? Maybe in the very early game, but for me, the problem is being able to carry it all rather than finding enough of it, since I am not an unwashed tourist swine that plays the game without the Hardcore Mode.
Overrated, more of a weapon to use for roleplaying purposes or to style on an enemy than being practical in any sense. Police Pistol from Dead Money is better in almost every way, you have to have a really crit oriented character to edge it out, so for most players Lucky is there as a placeholder weapon until you go into Sierra Madre.

Lucky the unique revolver you can get in Primm.

It can get as high as 90% chance if you spec for crits and if you lockpickmaxx you can get it very early.

Chance's knife.

Or how about the Weathered 10mm pistol since you start with it?
